Enjoy horror films without the extreme fear, thanks to this innovative iPhone app.
If you enjoy horror films but dislike being terrified, Binge could be the app you didn't realize you needed. This new movie tracking app for iPhone takes advantage of Apple’s Live Activities feature to notify you of jump scares in advance.
Simply launch the app when your movie starts, and scary warnings will appear on your iPhone’s lock screen before intense scenes. You also have the option to customize the settings to highlight only the major, heart-pounding moments, leaving out the lesser scares if you're feeling courageous.
But is it dependable?
Binge does not connect with any streaming service, meaning it cannot detect when you hit play. Therefore, you must manually initiate the movie tracking within the app as soon as you start the playback. Once you do, it functions reliably well.
If you plan to go grab popcorn or take a bathroom break, you'll have to pause it yourself, or else the warning times might be off. This situation reminds me of another utility app that gained popularity in the past.
It was named RunPee, which offered the ideal times to take breaks during movies so that you wouldn’t miss critical scenes. The app is available in the App Store and has received positive reviews, so consider trying it out next time you're at the theater.
What additional features does the app offer?
Binge is also positioning itself as your comprehensive movie companion. The app provides information about the cast and crew, reviews, awards, runtimes, and a useful tracker that indicates which streaming platform currently has a particular title.
Parents will appreciate the app's dedicated section that aggregates data from IMDb, highlighting violence, profanity, sexual content, and drug use.
The app is free to download, but the jump scare notifications require a paid subscription priced at $1.99 per month, $17.99 annually, or a one-time lifetime purchase for $49.99. It is compatible with iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

Passengers on flights will soon have to reduce the number of chargers they can bring along.
Southwest Airlines is limiting passengers to one portable charger, and other airlines may soon adopt similar policies.
Southwest Airlines is introducing a strict safety regulation that you should be aware of before your next trip. Starting April 20, passengers flying with Southwest will only be able to carry one portable charger or power bank. Additionally, the charger cannot be placed in the overhead bin or checked luggage and must remain visible at all times during use. This regulation is stricter than the International Civil Aviation Organization's recent recommendation, which allowed two portable chargers per passenger.
Apple’s iPhone Fold might be making its debut at the September launch event after all.
Apple's most revolutionary iPhone since the original is on the horizon, according to one of the most trustworthy sources in the industry.
After years of speculation and leaks, Apple’s iPhone Fold is reportedly getting closer to launch. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who is often regarded as a reliable source for Apple news, the foldable device is slated for a September 2026 release. Earlier this week, Nikkei Asia raised concerns about development issues regarding the iPhone Fold, particularly during testing. However, Gurman refutes these claims, indicating that Apple remains committed to its planned September launch despite the device's complicated design.
Motorola’s Moto G Stylus (2026) finally makes the stylus more powerful than the phone itself.
Motorola’s stylus phone has always been a unique choice — and for good reason. While many competitors in the mid-range category focus on increasing megapixels and benchmark scores, the Moto G Stylus (2026) continues to emphasize something much more personal: providing you with a pen and asking, "What do you want to create today?" This year, however, the focus extends beyond just having a stylus; it’s about enhancing its intelligence.
