A 200MP camera?
According to renowned leaker Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 16 is projected to include a 200MP sensor. This alone is enough to pique interest, but as always, the nuances are vital, and more specific information is starting to emerge. Another leaker, Smart Pikachu, indicated that this wouldn't just be any 200MP sensor; rather, OnePlus might draw inspiration from Realme's design.
The rumored sensor is said to be identical to the one utilized in the Realme GT 8 Pro—a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. In the GT 8 Pro, this configuration employs the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor, combined with a periscope lens that offers 3x optical zoom, an f/2.6 aperture, and a 65mm focal length. It is designed to capture distant subjects without losing quality. The same sensor is also found in devices like the Oppo Find X9 Pro, indicating its use in high-end camera-focused phones. While the 200MP periscope lens is certainly grabbing attention, the rest of the camera setup remains familiar. Leaks hint that OnePlus may maintain a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Thus, OnePlus appears to be concentrating on one significant upgrade while keeping other components consistent.
