Even Realities G2's most significant software update introduces an app store and a meeting preparation tool that transforms your work processes.
The G2 has become smarter, more personalized, and significantly more engaging.
Even Realities
Even Realities has introduced its most substantial software update since the G2 smart glasses were released, making these glasses not only useful but essential.
The standout new feature is Prep Notes, which is a revamped version of the company's Conversate AI. Now, before any meeting, call, or job interview, you can upload a PDF or a document, or even type up notes directly from your phone. As the conversation unfolds, relevant information will appear on the glasses’ heads-up display (HUD), offering suggested responses and important facts.
CEO Will Wang elaborates on the rationale behind this feature: “Many users expressed that while it’s useful, they wanted more context so that the agent could better understand them.”
This new upload capability allows you to prepare for meetings in advance, ensuring you are ready instead of frantically searching through notes at the last minute.
Can your glasses take the place of your pre-meeting preparations?
The brief answer is that it's getting closer to a yes. By uploading a pertinent file, the AI can auto-summarize the document, presenting a digestible version on your HUD.
You can also create multiple Prep Notes and switch between them, which is particularly advantageous if you’re a salesperson managing various clients or presentations throughout the day.
Even Realities has also improved the display interface based on user feedback. The previous version overloaded the screen with information, while the new design is more streamlined, showing elements only when needed.
What else is on the horizon for the G2?
Another significant enhancement is the introduction of Even Hub, an open application platform that enables developers to create apps specifically for the glasses. Approximately 60 apps are currently available, ranging from chess to Tesla management, all developed by a community of around 2,000 developers.
The company emphasizes the importance of privacy: apps can only request the minimum permissions necessary to function. In an interview, David, Product Manager at Even Realities, stated, “If your app does not utilize microphones, we will restrict access to that API.”
It’s reassuring to see Even Realities prioritizing privacy and offering an open development platform. Given the recent news about Meta sharing personal recordings to train its AI, I hope companies like Even Realities maintain transparency and uphold strong privacy protections.
Prep Notes is now available in the Even Realities app, and Even Hub is set to launch next week.
