iOS 26.4 has arrived, featuring Playlist Playground, new emojis, and a fix for Family Sharing issues.

Apple has made meaningful enhancements in iOS 26.4, from allowing family members to finally utilize their own credit cards to identifying songs without an internet connection.

On March 24, 2026, Apple launched iOS 26.4, the fourth major release in the iOS 26 upgrade series. The latest operating system for iPhone, which occupies 16.46 GB on my iPhone 17, introduces numerous new features.

You can easily download it on your iPhone by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update.

      iOS 26.4 enhances Apple Music

First off, iOS 26.4 includes Playlist Playground (beta), a novel feature for Apple Music that employs AI to create complete playlists, along with titles, descriptions, and tracklists based on a simple text prompt. Just describe the mood, and Apple Music will handle the rest.

The app now has a Concerts feature that showcases upcoming shows from artists within your library. Additionally, it recommends new artists you might want to check out live, tailored to your music preferences, making it perfect for discovering underrated talent.

Another exciting addition is the Offline Music Recognition feature, which can identify songs without cellular data or Wi-Fi and sends you the results when you reconnect. Lastly, a new Ambient Music widget grants you access to curated playlists for various moods—like sleep, relaxation, productivity, and wellbeing—right from your home screen.

What else is included in this software update?

In addition to the updates for Apple Music, iOS 26.4 introduces eight new emojis, such as an orca, a trombone, a ballet dancer, a landslide, and my favorite, a chaotic, distorted face. Freeform now includes advanced tools for image creation and editing, along with premium content available through Apple’s Creator Studio.

You can now mark tasks as urgent directly from the Quick Toolbar or by long-pressing in the Reminders app. There's also enhanced keyboard accuracy for quicker typing—a subtle fix that will be noticeable right after installing iOS 26.4.

With this update, adult members of a Family Sharing group are now able to use their own payment methods for purchases without needing to go through the organizer, a welcome change for families.

Several accessibility features have also been added. The new Reduce Bright Effects setting diminishes flashes when tapping buttons, while subtle adjustments are accessible directly from the captions icon when viewing media. Furthermore, the Reduce Motion feature reduces Liquid Glass animations more noticeably.

My life became entangled in subscription traps, but I eliminated the unwanted charges with these tricks

Subscription fatigue isn't just costly—it's intentionally designed to be forgettable.

Once upon a time, subscriptions felt like a novelty, a time of (digital) tranquility. A seamless payment feature for innovative new apps provided unlimited access for the month. You subscribed to Netflix and perhaps Spotify, and that was usually it.

Today, however, subscriptions span streaming services, cloud storage, fitness apps, editing tools, AI chatbots, and countless free trials that slipped through the cracks weeks ago. The subscription economy hasn't merely expanded—it has exploded, creating a widespread impact throughout the digital realm.
