This might be our first glimpse of Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.
Just yesterday, we came across the CAD renders of the Fold 8, suggesting that Samsung is not reinventing its priciest foldable this year. Today, the same source (Android Headlines, in partnership with OnLeaks) has released CAD renders of another Samsung foldable, dubbed the Fold 8 Wide by the outlet.
For those who are not up to speed, the Fold 8 Wide is a new, wider foldable that the company plans to introduce this summer, intended to rival Apple's rumored iPhone Fold.
What does the Fold 8 Wide look like?
Android Headlines
The Fold 8 Wide moves away from the tall, narrow shape of Samsung’s current foldables, which unfold into a large yet oddly shaped screen that isn’t designed for optimal content viewing in its natural orientation.
As shown in the detailed renders, the device boasts a shorter and broader design (imagine a passport instead of a paperback), allowing for a much more suitable aspect ratio for content consumption when opened. The overall shape is consistent with the software animation leak from February 2026.
In terms of dimensions, it unfolds to 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.9mm (4.3mm without the bezels) and folds down to 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8mm, making it marginally thicker than the Fold 7.
Including the camera bump results in a total thickness of 14.6 mm, quite substantial for what essentially is just a dual-camera setup.

What specifications should we anticipate?
Interestingly, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is shown in the rumored renders with only two rear cameras, reflecting the approach Samsung has taken with the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge and its Galaxy Z Flip clamshells. However, specifics about the camera sensor size and resolution remain unknown.
The leak suggests a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal flexible panel for the new device. It is expected to come in configurations with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and storage options will include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
Significantly, the battery capacity may be on par with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 at 5,000mAh, with similar wired fast charging capabilities that peak at 45W output. The report also indicates a launch in Summer 2026, which should coincide with Samsung's second Unpacked event of the year.
Interestingly, the forthcoming iPhone Fold is also anticipated to adopt a similar wide design and may even utilize the same laser-perforated flexible display technology as Samsung’s new lineup of foldables.
