Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A57 and A37, featuring updated processors and enhanced cameras.
Samsung's mid-range duo enhances its features with camera and AI improvements.
Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37. As it continues to focus on the mid-range market, this duo combines familiar hardware with significant upgrades.
Both models maintain a well-known design while refreshing elements such as performance, camera capabilities, and durability without implementing any major revisions.
What's new and enhanced?
One of the most significant upgrades is found under the hood. The Galaxy A57 is now equipped with the Exynos 1680 chipset, while the Galaxy A37 features the Exynos 1480 chip, resulting in a noticeable enhancement in performance and efficiency. These processors are developed on a 4nm process, which is expected to lead to improved power efficiency and sustained performance compared to older models.
Regarding the camera, Samsung retains a similar configuration featuring a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens (8MP on the A37), and a 5MP macro lens. Nevertheless, this year emphasizes enhanced low-light photography, with advancements in night shots and overall image processing. Thus, even though the hardware remains comparable, Samsung is evidently relying on software and AI innovations to achieve better outcomes.
Familiar design and long-term support
The company is sticking with what was effective in previous models. This includes:
- Bright 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate.
- 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging.
- In-display fingerprint scanners.
There remains no wireless charging or a dedicated zoom lens.
The standout feature isn’t actually hardware-related; it’s longevity.
Both models come with Android 16 OS using the One UI 8.5 custom skin right out of the box, and Samsung promises up to six years of software updates and security patches. This is significant in the mid-range segment, where devices often fall short in terms of long-term usability.
The Galaxy A57 is offered in Awesome Navy, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac, starting at $549.99. On the other hand, the Galaxy A37 is available in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Charcoal, and Awesome Graygreen for $449.99.
