Mixed signals from the leaked accessories for the Galaxy S26 suggest that Samsung's anticipated upgrade to Qi2 wireless charging may not be implemented as seamlessly or natively as enthusiasts had expected.

The upcoming Galaxy S26 series has been rumored extensively to support native Qi2 wireless charging, featuring an integrated magnetic profile. However, a recent leak from the Dutch site Nieuwemobiel contradicts these prior assertions.

This publication has shared several images of first-party accessories that Samsung may launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series.

The leak raises doubts about previous Qi2 predictions.

Among the accessories showcased are the Galaxy S26 Ultra's dual-tone S-Pen and anti-reflective screen protectors, alongside transparent and silicone cases that have a circular magnetic ring on the back.

The visuals illustrate various models within the Galaxy S26 lineup, including the Ultra, and highlight magnetic and non-magnetic case options. This leads to two potential interpretations.

First, Samsung might be preparing a Galaxy S26 series that is compatible with Qi2 while continuing to offer non-magnetic cases for users who do not utilize wireless accessories. Additionally, transparent cases designed for Qi2-compliant items often display a visible magnetic ring for securing the compatible accessory; this does not necessarily imply the absence of magnets in the device’s structure.

The presence of magnetic cases does not provide the complete picture.

Conversely, these magnetic cases could be Samsung’s solution to enable Qi2 wireless charging without incorporating the Magnetic Power Profile at the hardware level, a strategy observed with the Galaxy S25 series.

Despite numerous industry sources claiming that the Galaxy S26 series would feature a Qi2 magnetic profile, this latest leak has only added to the confusion for those eagerly anticipating one of the most significant updates.

The Galaxy S26 series is set to debut at a time when both Apple and Google fully embrace wireless magnetic charging in their smartphones. The iPhone 17 and the Pixel 10 series, for instance, incorporate built-in magnets to secure wireless chargers, facilitating effective wireless charging.

If Samsung opts to postpone native support for Qi2 wireless charging yet again, it would be quite disappointing. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S26 devices may be revealed at the first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, which is rumored to take place on February 25, 2026.
