Samsung is reportedly targeting a late February release for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series flagship phones. Thus far, the leaks have presented a rather unimpressive outlook on the upgrades for these new devices. Recently, a certification database has revealed somewhat disappointing information regarding the mid-range Galaxy S26 Plus.

A Samsung smartphone identified as the SM-947B has recently been listed on the SGS database. Although the documents do not include images of the device or other technical specifications, they do confirm the battery capacity, which is not promising.
The certificate indicates a battery capacity of 4,755 mAh. For context, the battery capacity of the Galaxy S24 Plus, its predecessor, is recorded at 4,900 mAh on Samsung’s website. This means that the Galaxy S26 Plus is either maintaining the same battery capacity as a two-year-old model or reducing it.
Either way, this situation is disappointing for a phone labeled “Plus.” For comparison, popular models like the OnePlus 15 come with a 7,300mAh battery, while other brands such as Honor have already achieved a 10,000mAh capacity without making their phones overly bulky.
What else?
The Galaxy S26 Plus has faced some uncertainty in recent months. The “Plus” model was initially dropped to accommodate the Galaxy S25 Edge. Subsequently, it was rumored that the Galaxy S26 Edge had been cancelled, with a “Pro” model set to take its place in 2026.
If Samsung maintains its unique and differentiated design approach, the current Galaxy S6 Ultra is expected to resemble this. Unfortunately, there is no question about it. However, it seems that the Galaxy S26 Plus has returned to the final line-up, albeit without significant upgrades. Leaks indicate a familiar design and camera setup, with the processor likely being one of Samsung’s Exynos chips, at least in some regions.
