Naox introduces earbuds capable of measuring your brain activity through EEG technology.
Making brain health tracking as simple as wearing earbuds
French neurotech company Naox Technologies is making waves at CES 2026 with a significant announcement. They have introduced Naox Wave, a set of wireless earbuds capable of measuring your brain's electrical activity through electroencephalography, commonly known as EEG.
EEG is considered the gold standard for monitoring the brain's electrical signals in clinical environments to analyze sleep habits, stress levels, focus, and neurological conditions.
Typically, EEG requires a hospital environment with around 20 electrodes affixed to the scalp, but Naox aims to transform this process, enabling use similar to standard wireless earbuds for everyday situations.
Naox’s in-ear design intends to greatly simplify the experience by integrating discreet sensors within the earbuds, passively capturing brain signals throughout your day.
How Naox earbuds convert brain waves into health insights
The Naox Wave earbuds utilize the same in-ear EEG technology as Naox Link, a wired, FDA-approved clinical EEG system intended for professional use. In contrast, the wireless Wave version focuses on consumer wellness tracking rather than medical diagnostics.
The system monitors indicators such as focus, relaxation, alertness, and cognitive pattern signals. An accompanying application translates this data into easily interpretable scores and trends, allowing you to observe variations in your brain activity during work, relaxation, and sleep.
Rather than overwhelming users with raw data, the NAOX app simplifies EEG signals into clear visual summaries and provides recommendations like breathing exercises or customized audio experiences tailored to your mental state.
Naox envisions this EEG technology being incorporated into earbuds from various audio brands, meaning your next favorite pair could discreetly monitor your brain activity in the background.
The Naox Wave earbuds are anticipated to begin their rollout towards late 2026, with pricing and product specifications yet to be announced.
Other technology companies are also delving into brain health tracking, with Samsung developing a feature to identify early signs of dementia in its wearables, and Timex creating a sensor that monitors brain activity in addition to heart rate.
What once was a cumbersome clinical procedure now approaches commonplace wearable technology, introducing an exciting new dimension to personal wellness tracking.

Samsung to showcase brain health feature for early dementia detection at CES 2026
At CES 2026, Samsung is revealing its latest health initiative: a feature called Brain Health. While our watches can already track our heart rates and sleep patterns, Samsung is now venturing into the realm of cognitive health. This new service is not merely a fitness tracker for the mind; it functions as an advanced early-warning system designed to detect subtle, often unnoticed signs of dementia well before they become apparent to a doctor.
The fundamental concept of "Brain Health" is to transform our everyday gadgets into diagnostic tools. Instead of requiring a brain scan or multiple clinical assessments, the system identifies "digital biomarkers"—the minute changes in movement, speech, and sleep that may indicate the onset of cognitive decline.
