SwitchBot's latest robot may handle your household chores for you.
Robot butlers are taking the spotlight at CES 2026.
CES is renowned for showcasing cutting-edge technology, and this year, robot butlers are particularly in focus. LG has already hinted at its CLOiD robot, while SwitchBot is making its debut with its first humanoid robot designed to assist with household chores.
According to SwitchBot, the onero H1 is an entirely autonomous and collaborative robot capable of aiding users with a variety of domestic tasks. It boasts two fully articulating arms that offer 22 degrees of freedom, allowing it near-human dexterity.
The onero H1 utilizes multiple Intel RealSense cameras embedded in its head, arms, hands, and abdomen to scan its environment, processing the information through SwitchBot's OmniSense VLA AI algorithm. As showcased in SwitchBot’s promotional video, this enables the robot to perform tasks such as brewing and serving coffee, preparing meals, rinsing dishes and loading them into the dishwasher, as well as doing laundry.
SwitchBot also mentions that the robot can seamlessly integrate into its larger smart home system, enabling interaction with other smart devices to coordinate various tasks. Unlike recent humanoid robots, the onero H1 moves on wheels, which should provide better stability and faster mobility throughout the home.
Pre-orders will open soon, though pricing details remain undisclosed.
While specific pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, SwitchBot intends to open pre-orders soon on its official website. Its performance in real-world scenarios is still unknown. We remain cautious about expectations, particularly given the numerous overhyped demonstrations and amusing failures we've encountered recently.
Humanoid robots like the onero H1 suggest a future where daily chores might be automated, freeing up more time for work, hobbies, or relaxation. Although fully functional robot butlers in every household are still a distant reality, this year's CES showcase indicates that companies are committed to making that science fiction vision a reality.

AI toys are becoming alarming – but a small red device claims to provide a solution.
If you feel like 'AI is everywhere,' you might not be mistaken. While it's infiltrating workplaces and educational settings, it's also making rapid strides into various other domains. One such area is the toy aisle, which carries significant risks. As a parent, it’s concerning that your child could have nearly unrestricted access to the internet’s vast (and potentially harmful) resources, while we're observing a surge in toys that could transform bedtime stories into genuinely grim narratives.
