Pebble Round 2 is a beautiful reimagining of a classic, featuring more advanced display technology.
The Pebble Round 2 is available for purchase at a price of $199 and is set to begin shipping in May of this year.
Pebble's comeback has generated a lot of excitement, particularly among smartwatch enthusiasts seeking a retro-minimalist device that covers the essentials without overwhelming digital features. Operating now under the name RePebble, the company is reintroducing a beloved model from ten years ago — the Pebble Time Round. Meet the Pebble Round 2.
This design is certainly eye-catching.
The newest addition to the Pebble collection features a round dial with an impressively thin profile measuring just 8.1mm, and its body is crafted from stainless steel. It comes in Matte Black, Brushed Silver, and Polished Rose Gold, with band options available in 14mm and 20mm sizes.
On the front, you’ll find a 1.3-inch color e-paper display (260 x 260 pixels at 283 DPI). While it has touch sensitivity, you can completely bypass touch actions and navigate the entire interface using four physical buttons.
Additionally, this is an always-on display, eliminating the need for raise-to-wake or button-pressing. Regarding the user interface, the Pebble Round 2 is compatible with both Android and iPhone, thanks to open-source software that offers over 15,000 apps and watch faces.
However, this isn't a conventional smartwatch equipped with advanced biosensing technology. Instead, it serves more as a companion device for your phone, capable of basic step and sleep tracking. The focus here is on convenience, supporting voice messaging and interaction with AI assistants.
A great incentive for fans.
The Pebble Round 2 boasts a battery life of two weeks on a single charge, with water resistance rated for depths of up to 30 meters. While it may not match the resilience of the Apple Watch Ultra 3, that isn't its aim.
RePebble has stated they are currently in the design verification test (DVT) phase for the Round 2 but have commenced pre-orders at $199 each. Shipping is anticipated in May.
If you've pre-ordered a Pebble Time 2 but are now intrigued by the Pebble Round 2, you can switch your order to get the latest model. This lineup will also be presented at CES 2025, promising a more in-depth look soon.

Xiaomi has introduced a new smartwatch that allows call control via muscle gestures.
With the Xiaomi Watch 5, the company is innovating input methods, moving away from traditional screen shortcuts. This smartwatch employs an EMG sensor that detects electrical impulses in your wrist muscles, translating them into commands.
Xiaomi asserts that this method is more precise than motion-based gestures that rely on accelerometers, as it can capture subtle muscle movements even when your arm is mostly still. The watch is currently available in China, with a global launch expected at MWC 2026 in Barcelona.
