LG's forthcoming high-end OLED TV may surpass the peak brightness of Mini-LED technology.
LG Electronics, a manufacturer of television and display products in Korea, is developing its next-generation OLED TV as part of the G-series, which will include a new wallpaper TV.
According to a report from Videocardz, the OLED TV being referenced is the LG G6 Evo AI, a new RGB Tandem WOLED model. The G6 will incorporate a new “Hyper Radiant OLED” panel with “Brightness Booster Ultra,” enabling brightness levels up to 3.9 times that of a standard OLED TV.
The report also refers to “B6” as a benchmark. Considering that LG’s B-series OLED TVs (non-MLA, non-Evo) usually have a peak brightness of about 800 to 850 nits, a 3.9x increase would place the new LG G6 Evo AI’s peak brightness between 3,120 and 3,315 nits.
In addition to the heightened peak brightness, the G6 will boast an enhanced anti-reflection layer, potentially improving viewing angles and minimizing glare from bright overhead lights, which would contribute to a better viewing experience.
The report indicates that the LG G6 OLED TV will come in various screen sizes, including 48, 55, 65, 77, 83, and 97 inches. Whether you need a compact 48-inch model for your bedroom, a grand 97-inch display for your living room, or a home theater setup, the G6 series could cater to diverse preferences.
Internally, this premium OLED TV may be powered by the next-generation Alpha 11 AI processor, expected to deliver superior upscaling, more precise tone mapping, and enhanced real-time image optimization. The leak suggests that this processor will provide “5.6x” the neural processing power compared to the previous version.
While these are the primary features, the television may also offer a 165Hz refresh rate mode, support 4K output at up to 120Hz for video game streaming services, and include four HDMI 2.1 ports. Additionally, it is anticipated to encompass all the functionalities expected at this price point, including variable refresh rate, eARC via HDMI, and Dolby Atmos support.
In addition to the LG G6 Evo AI TV, the report mentions another model designated “W6,” which is expected to be a wallpaper television. Available in 77 and 83 inches, these TVs could be around 99mm thick, making them some of the slimmest options in their category. It will come with the Zero Connect box.
While LG has yet to confirm these details, more information about the televisions could be unveiled at CES 2026.
