TRON 2 Officially Launched | Redefining the Foundation of Embodied Robotics
LimX Dynamics is engaged in some intriguing work within the robotics field. Four months after impressing us with its skilled Oli humanoid robot, the three-year-old tech startup has just introduced Tron 2, which, as the name cleverly indicates, serves as the successor to Tron 1.
According to the video (above) released by LimX on Thursday, Tron 2 is an advanced, AI-driven modular humanoid robot showcasing impressive strength and mobility.
Capturing attention from the outset, the video opens with the unusual sight of a pair of robotic legs — and nothing more — walking independently. With a few twists of a screwdriver, Tron 2 suddenly gains a head and a couple of arms that seem to be the legs repurposed, and is subsequently shown lifting several large water bottles.
For those unimpressed by the robot's lifting abilities, a woman then picks up a third bottle and sits in an attached swing. After a brief pause, Tron 2 lifts the entire load with noticeable ease.
Following this, we see Tron 2 demonstrating its AI capabilities, using its grippers to carry out various sorting tasks, although the video does not clarify just how intelligent or agile it is in these actions.
LimX's humanoid robot can also perform low-latency teleoperation, mimicking the movements of a human operator. In addition to supporting AI training, teleoperation allows for the completion of tasks that are currently too intricate for autonomous robots. Competing robot company 1X Technologies employs teleoperation for some of the more challenging tasks undertaken by its NEO robot.
The footage also showcases Tron 2 playing table tennis and walking up stairs, in addition to rolling on wheels and executing cartwheels. It’s quite remarkable.
At the conclusion of its video presentation, LimX proposes that Tron 2, or a similar robot, would be ideally suited for future Mars missions, thanks to its high agility, modular design, and AI intelligence.
LimX seems to be preparing Tron 2 for sale, though the price has yet to be disclosed on its website. We have contacted the company for further information about Tron 2 and its intended customer base and will update this article when we receive a response.

Gemini web app just integrated Opal, enabling mini app creation without coding
Google Labs' Opal is now featured in Gemini's Gems manager, allowing you to create workflows by chaining prompts, models, and tools.
Opal is now part of the Gemini web app, enabling the construction of reusable AI mini-apps right where Gems are managed. If you’ve been looking for a simpler way to develop custom Gemini tools without coding, this is Google’s latest experiment to facilitate that.
Google Labs describes Opal as a visual, natural-language builder for multi-step workflows, designed to chain prompts, model calls, and tools into one mini app. Google also mentions that Opal takes care of hosting, so once the app is ready, you can share it without needing to set up servers or deploy anything manually.

Enjoy the Now Brief on Galaxy phones? Google has created something even better
CC launches in early access today for consumer account users 18+ in the U.S. and Canada, starting with Google AI Ultra and paid subscribers.
Google Labs has just unveiled CC, an experimental AI productivity assistant built with Gemini that sends a Google CC daily briefing to your inbox each morning. The aim is to replace your routine tab-hopping with one "Your Day Ahead" email that outlines what to expect and what actions to take next.
If you appreciate the habit of reviewing a daily summary like Now Brief on Galaxy phones, CC represents Google's approach, albeit with a different platform. Instead of being something you access on your phone, Google is delivering the briefing via email and allowing you to reply for further assistance.
