      If you’re a Pixel 10 user experiencing constant Wi-Fi dropouts, you’re not imagining it. A peculiar new bug has emerged where simply accessing the Quick Share menu causes your internet connection to vanish.

      Reports have been accumulating on Reddit and Google’s forums, all detailing the same issue: when users attempt to use Quick Share to send a file, their Wi-Fi icon disappears, and their network list clears until they exit the menu.

      This issue seems to have started following Google’s recent Quick Share extension update, which introduced the ability to share files with iPhones. Users such as 'JayMZ' and 'justbecause0907' report that as soon as the share sheet appears, the connection drops. On the Pixel 10 Pro XL, it particularly happens when the device starts preparing files. Another user, 'MrWhiteford,' noted that their phone has stopped using Wi-Fi for PC transfers, reverting to the much slower Bluetooth option.

      It appears that most users are on the same software versions (Play Services 25.45.34 and Quick Share extension 1.0.815689706). Unfortunately, a ticket was submitted in Google’s Issue Tracker, but it was closed with a suggestion to visit support forums, which only redirects back to the tracker—a frustrating cycle.

      The irony here is notable. A feature designed to simplify sharing is impairing the fundamental function of a phone: maintaining an internet connection. Quick Share heavily depends on local Wi-Fi for efficient transfers. If the menu’s opening disables Wi-Fi, the entire feature becomes, at best, unreliable.

      This situation is inconvenient for users. When your Wi-Fi cuts out every time you attempt to share a photo, any ongoing downloads, cloud syncs, or music streams are disrupted. Furthermore, if Quick Share resorts to using Bluetooth due to a lost Wi-Fi connection, transfers that should take seconds may stretch into minutes.

      Currently, Google has not officially acknowledged the issue, and a genuine fix has yet to be found. Based on past handling of similar bugs (like the telephoto stutter), users may need to voice their concerns to attract attention. For now, the only “solution” is to avoid using Quick Share if you need your Wi-Fi to remain active.
