Healytec makes clinic-grade recovery technology accessible to all.
As health awareness and fitness recovery increasingly become essential to contemporary lifestyles, the need for intelligent and portable recovery solutions is growing. Among the startups merging technology and wellness, Healytec has become a significant innovator. Since its founding, the company has established itself at the crossroads of wearable technology and therapeutic recovery, striving to make advanced heat-and-cold therapy available to a wider audience.
A mission to democratize clinical-grade recovery
Healytec’s mission is rooted in a straightforward yet impactful belief: technology should enable individuals to live better and recover more efficiently. By focusing on enhancing wellness through technology, the company merges advanced engineering with practical recovery applications. Its products are crafted not only for athletes but also for anyone in search of pain relief, muscle relaxation, or improved mobility following daily activities.
The philosophy of the company originates from personal experience. Founder Hassan Sanad, who is both an athlete and an engineer, created Healytec from a personal need—identifying the disconnect between high-performance recovery tools and user-friendly options. "We're not just designing for athletes; we are athletes ourselves," he states. This genuine understanding of pain, injury, and rehabilitation drives the company's focus on performance, simplicity, and dependability.
Engineering meets wellness: exploring Healytec’s flagship offerings
Healytec’s engineering-oriented approach is exemplified by its flagship product, the Hybrid Knee, which integrates three therapy modes—cold, hot, and contrast—to address pain, inflammation, and muscle tightness. The device can achieve temperatures as low as -10 °C in cold mode and as high as 45 °C in hot mode, while its contrast function alternates between the two to enhance circulation and accelerate recovery.
In contrast to traditional recovery packs, the Hybrid Knee is completely portable, wireless, and adjustable to various body types, allowing users to experience professional-grade therapy in any location. This design reflects Healytec’s "user-first" philosophy: instead of modifying existing technologies, the company custom-engineers each device to address specific pain points.
Another notable product is the Healytec Ice Bath, which offers precise temperature control and portability for full-body recovery. Tailored for athletes and wellness enthusiasts alike, it represents how Healytec combines performance with ease of use—transforming recovery from a clinical-only experience to a convenient daily ritual.
Virtual twin technology boosts precision and user experience
Behind Healytec’s minimalist design lies a strong commitment to technological accuracy and ergonomic design. The company partners with entities such as Dassault Systèmes’ 3D EXPERIENCE Lab in Shanghai, where advanced virtual twin simulations are used to refine product form, comfort, and performance prior to physical prototyping.
This digital modeling strategy enables Healytec's engineers to test and optimize every design detail, including temperature consistency and user posture, ensuring each product not only embodies innovation but also delivers tangible, quantifiable results. The fusion of hardware expertise and virtual engineering highlights the company’s objective of creating recovery tools that are scientifically validated and user-friendly.
Balancing innovation, affordability, and global expansion
In light of the global fitness culture and the increasing demand for personal wellness technology, Healytec is entering a promising yet competitive market. The company’s strategy focuses on bridging the divide between medical-grade equipment and consumer-friendly products, delivering solutions that are simple, effective, and clinically valid.
However, scaling such innovation presents challenges. The team must carefully balance affordability, comply with regulatory standards, and enhance brand visibility on a global scale. Despite these obstacles, Healytec’s clear mission and engineering depth provide a robust foundation for sustainable expansion.
Interview with founder Hassan Sanad: shaping the future of recovery
Q: What motivated you to start Healytec? What drives your focus on merging technology with wellness and recovery?
Hassan Sanad: My path to Healytec stems from my experiences as both an athlete and an engineer. As a squash player, I faced recovery challenges daily. After earning my engineering degree, I aimed to develop better solutions. Coming from a sporty family—my father is a tennis player and my brother is a professional handball player—we’ve all encountered injuries and recovery situations.
Surrounded by this environment, I recognized the pain points athletes face and where existing solutions fall short. Our motivation at Healytec is rooted in this personal understanding of challenges. We create not just for athletes, but as athletes ourselves. This perspective, combined with our technical expertise, enables us to design solutions that effectively address real recovery needs.
Q: If you could summarize Healytec’s core mission or vision in a single sentence, what would it be?
Hassan Sanad: Help people do more of what they love.
Q: What differentiates products like the Hybrid Knee and Ice Bath in terms of technological advancement?
Hassan Sanad: Our process begins with the problem, not the technology. We don’t look at existing options and try to fit them into a product. Instead, we identify the specific injuries and pain points we aim
