Enjoy crossword puzzles but don’t have the entire day to dedicate to completing a full-sized puzzle in your daily newspaper? That’s where The Mini comes in!
The Mini is a condensed version of the New York Times’ famous crossword puzzle, offering a quick and straightforward way to challenge your crossword skills daily in significantly less time (it typically takes most players just over a minute to complete). Although The Mini is smaller and easier than a standard crossword, it can still present challenges. Getting stuck on a single clue can make a big difference between achieving your best completion time and having a frustrating attempt.

Move over, Wordle: The New York Times has introduced a new puzzle game
The New York Times has launched a new title in its Games catalog following Wordle's ongoing success — and it revolves around math. Digits requires players to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers. You can currently play its beta for free online.
In Digits, players are given a target number to match using six available numbers. They can combine the numbers through addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division to come as close to the target as possible. Not every number is required, making this game a true test of your math abilities as you work with various numbers to create the appropriate equations.
Players will earn a five-star rating for matching the target number exactly, a three-star rating for coming within 10, and a one-star rating for getting within 25 of the target. At present, players also have access to five different puzzles featuring progressively larger numbers. I completed today’s puzzle and found it to be an enjoyable number-based game that should attract curious minds who enjoy puzzle games like Threes or other New York Times titles such as Wordle and Spelling Bee.
In an article announcing Digits and explaining the development process of The New York Times Games team, The Times mentioned that they will use this free beta to identify bugs and determine if it’s worthwhile to move into a more active development phase, “where the game is coded and the designs are finalized.” So, enjoy Digits while you can, as The New York Times may pivot away from the project if the response isn’t as anticipated.
Digits' beta is currently available for free on The New York Times Games website.

If you logged onto Twitter a year ago, you likely remember when your feed was filled with gray, yellow, and green boxes. Although it was released in 2021 and gained significant popularity in December of that year, Wordle became a widespread cultural sensation early in 2022, almost impossible to avoid unless muted. It was a rare success in gaming, reaching a broad audience due to its clean simplicity.
Wordle’s success surged in parallel with its growing user base. In late January 2022, the New York Times announced that it had acquired the puzzle game from its creator, Josh Wardle, in an undisclosed low-seven-figure deal — a surprising move that nearly overshadowed Sony’s earlier announcement regarding its acquisition of Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2. This acquisition raised concerns among fans, who feared
