John Cena and the 11th Street Kids are back in the teaser trailer for Peacemaker season 2.

      John Cena, welcome to the revamped DC Universe. After a three-year break, Peacemaker makes its highly anticipated return to Max for Season 2.

      The teaser trailer showcases the escapades of Christopher “Chris” Smith (Cena), also known as the vigilante hero Peacemaker. Following his efforts to save the world, the Season 2 footage begins with Peacemaker trying to join a super team featuring Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn), Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced). However, the trio is not impressed with Peacemaker and mock him from across an interrogation room.

      Regardless, Peacemaker is determined to combat evil and achieve peace using any means necessary. This task may be complicated by the presence of Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo), the new A.R.G.U.S. leader. Peacemaker previously killed Rick Flag Jr. in The Suicide Squad, leaving Rick Sr. with unresolved issues with the crime-fighting mercenary.

      In addition to Cena, returning cast members include Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Steve Agee as John Economos, and Robert Patrick as August “Auggie” Smith/White Dragon. Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows are among the new additions to the Season 2 cast.

      DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of Season 2 and directed three, with Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Althea Jones directing the others. Gunn, Cena, and Peter Safran will serve as executive producers.

      While the series originally started in the DC Extended Universe, Peacemaker Season 2 will now exist in the DC Universe. Gunn has previously mentioned that the show will explore the arrival of the DCEU’s Justice League, as teased in the Season 1 finale. The teaser concludes with a scene featuring two Peacemakers, one pointing a gun at the other’s head. Many fans speculate this could signify a confrontation between the DCEU Peacemaker and the DCU Peacemaker.

      Peacemaker Season 2 will comprise eight episodes, with the premiere set for Thursday, August 21, on Max.

      After a two-year break, The Last of Us is making a triumphant return for its second season on Sunday night.

      The first episode of The Last of Us Season 2 will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT on April 13. The episode, titled Future Days, will be broadcasted on HBO and streamed on Max. The second season consists of seven episodes airing every Sunday night, culminating in the finale on May 25.
