EA Sports has collaborated with Major League Soccer (MLS) to stream four chosen live matches through EA Sports FC Mobile via the in-game FCM TV portal at no cost. These matches will be broadcast simultaneously with the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and viewers using the app will receive in-game currency and a one-month free trial to the MLS Season Pass.
Two matches are scheduled for May and two for September. The first match takes place on Saturday, May 10, between LA Galaxy and the New York Red Bulls at 7:30 PM ET, allowing players to simulate each match-up in-game prior to the live airing. Compete between the two teams and see who prevails in reality, or simply enjoy the rewards by watching the game.
The second match is on May 17 featuring Atlanta United FC against the Philadelphia Union, again at 7:30 PM ET. The match dates and pairs for the September games will be announced later in the year.
In 2023, Apple secured a 10-year rights agreement with MLS, though viewership has not met expectations, with even pickleball attracting more viewers. MLS hopes this partnership will alter that trend. “This collaboration with EA SPORTS and Apple TV highlights MLS’s dedication to innovation, boundary-pushing, and fan-focused experiences,” stated Camilo Durana, Executive VP at Major League Soccer. “By offering select live MLS Season Pass matches on EA SPORTS FC Mobile, we are reaching new digital audiences globally and expanding our engagement with fans.”
EA Sports FC, alongside Apex Legends, were among the reasons for EA's recent significant layoffs. In response to this performance, EA has introduced the first-ever paid season pass for EA Sports FC, which includes cosmetics, in-game currency, and additional content.

EA is one of the largest publishers in the Western gaming market, employing thousands of developers across numerous studios to create games of various sizes, types, and genres. With a history that dates back to the early days of gaming, EA boasts one of the most extensive catalogs in the industry, which continues to expand as their teams develop more titles. However, the company has faced criticism from gamers regarding its treatment of some studios and franchises.
Despite the criticism, it's undeniable that some of the greatest games and franchises in gaming history originate from EA. Recently, they have made efforts to improve their reputation by reducing predatory business practices, enhancing games that were poorly received at launch, and offering more traditional single-player experiences. While EA is recognized for several flagship series, they cater to nearly every gaming market. Here are what we believe are the best EA games of all time.
EA has acquired Metalhead Software, the studio responsible for the Super Mega Baseball series, as it strengthens its focus on sports games. Metalhead Software, an independent studio, is known for developing and publishing Super Mega Baseball 3, which received critical acclaim and developed a dedicated following last summer. EA Sports Executive Vice President Cam Weber indicated that this acquisition will allow the developer to elevate its sports game brand.
Electronic Arts has been on a purchasing spree for the past few months, with its latest acquisition being crucial. The publisher announced plans on Monday to acquire Glu Mobile in a deal valued at $2.1 billion. While it may not seem logical initially, considering EA's catalog includes franchises like Madden, Mass Effect, and Battlefield, the move to add a mobile gaming company recognized for titles such as Design Home, Diner Dash, and Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is a strategic power play.
