Apple has just released a new watch band and wallpapers in celebration of Pride 2025.

      Apple has just unveiled its “2025 Pride Collection,” featuring a new Sport Band for the Apple Watch, a dynamic watch face, and a lively wallpaper for iOS and iPadOS. The watch band is available for order starting today, while the watch face and wallpapers will launch with upcoming software updates.

      For nearly ten years, Apple has been introducing special edition watch bands for Pride Month, each showcasing a unique interpretation of the rainbow or multicolored design. This year’s band is quite straightforward, utilizing bold color stripes akin to actual pride flags.

      The watch face features a shifting animation that moves through different colors diagonally. Apple mentions that the stripes change to form numbers when a user raises their arm to check the time — although, awkwardly, I don’t see those numbers in the animated preview shared on the blog.

      The iPhone and iPad versions of the background change whenever you move, lock, or unlock your device. Access to the wallpapers and watch face will be available with watchOS 11.5, iOS 18.5, and iPadOS 18.5. There will not be a macOS version of the wallpaper, which isn't surprising since previous years also lacked one.

      The Sport Band is crafted from silicone, with each color blended separately and then compression-molded together. This material is likely the best option for such a vibrant design because it's easy to clean and durable. There’s nothing worse than buying a colorful product only to see it dirty and faded within a year.

      This may be the brightest design Apple has released in recent years — the 2024 Braided Solo Loop featured many darker hues, while the 2023 Sport Band was more subdued with a white backdrop. The two Pride Sport Loop editions from 2022 were almost pastel in comparison to this year's offering.

      Nevertheless, Apple hasn’t resolved the software issues with iPadOS, which still presents its share of quirks. This year, the software disparity is even more pronounced between the basic iPad and the other tablets in Apple’s lineup. Stage Manager has been the major differentiator thus far, but by 2025, the gap could widen further.
