Brad Pitt continues to hold his status as Hollywood royalty, making his involvement in any project noteworthy.
According to Deadline, Pitt will team up with Conclave director Edward Berger for The Riders, a film adaptation of Tim Winton’s 1994 novel. The script will be written by David Kajganich, known for Bones and All. Pitt’s commitment to both star and produce the film triggered a competitive bidding war among studios, ultimately won by A24.
The Riders centers on Fred Scully (Pitt), who relocates from Australia to Ireland with his wife, Jennifer, and young daughter, Billie. After Scully renovates their house on his own, he heads to the airport to pick them up, only to find that only Billie has arrived. With no sign of Jennifer, Scully and Billie set out across Europe in search of her.
Filming is anticipated to commence in early 2026, with multiple European locations planned for shoots. Producers include Pitt, Kajganich, Berger, Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Jeremy Kleiner, and Dede Gardner.
