Nomad's highly sought-after glow-in-the-dark Apple Watch band has returned.

      Nomad

If you didn’t grab Nomad’s incredible limited edition glow in the dark Apple Watch Sport Band released at the start of the year, you now have another opportunity. Nomad is unveiling a new glow in the dark band, specifically designed for the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

The new glow in the dark version is inspired by Nomad’s Rocky Point Band. It is compatible with all 49mm, 46mm, 45mm, 44mm, and 42mm Apple Watch models, featuring a waterproof fluoroelastomer that resists tearing. The underside's design helps minimize sweat and keep your wrist cool, making it particularly suitable for the Apple Watch Ultra 2. In addition, the hardware, available in black or natural silver, is crafted from titanium to match the Apple Watch Ultra 2’s case.

Nomad has added an Icy Blue glow in the dark color to the Rocky Point Band collection, which debuted in January with the Sport Band. We tested it then and appreciated the subtle off-white color when not glowing, while being impressed by the bright, striking blue when illuminated in the dark. It’s not overly bright to the point of being absurd, but it is enough to grab attention. It may not be the choice for those who prefer subtle wrist accessories.

The glow in the dark Icy Blue Rocky Point Band retails for $79, matching the price of existing models in Forest, Storm, Sol, and Atlantic, along with Nomad’s other limited edition version, the vibrant orange Magma. The Icy Blue Sport Band quickly sold out, as did Nomad’s previous glow in the dark offerings, the Glow and Glow 2.0. If you're eager to add the Icy Blue Rocky Road Band to your collection, it’s advisable to act fast before making a purchase.

I recently damaged my Apple Watch Series 10.

I wouldn’t describe myself as clumsy, but I do swing my arms quite a bit and wince each time my smartwatch collides with something hard. Despite this movement, I had never deeply scratched or lightly cracked an Apple Watch screen… until now. The Apple Watch Series 10 does not compromise much compared to the Apple Watch Ultra 2, and I had even made the transition permanently before this incident. It’s large, sleek, and attractive, but the Apple Watch Series 10 also utilizes a less durable protective cover for its display.

Blood oxygen tracking isn’t set to return to the Apple Watch in the near future.

In recent years, one of the main selling points of Apple Watches has been the ability to measure users’ blood oxygen levels. Unfortunately, ongoing legal issues have prevented this feature from being included in Apple Watches sold in the U.S. since January. It now seems doubtful that this situation will change anytime soon.

On Friday, a jury in Delaware determined that health-monitoring technology company Masimo had infringed on some of Apple’s earlier smartwatch patents. Consequently, Apple was awarded only $250. However, the same jury found that Masimo's current timepieces did not violate the patents that Apple claimed were copied. Thus, a ban remains in effect in the U.S., preventing the company from providing blood oxygen tracking on newly sold watches in the country.
