New leaks of the Moto Razr showcase it in striking colors just a few days before its launch.
The launch of Motorola's latest folding phones, the Motorola Razr Plus 2025 and Motorola Razr 2025, is just days away, with an announcement expected on April 24. For those unaware, these devices are referred to as the Razr 60 Ultra and Razr 60 outside the US.
Thanks to trusted source Evan Blass, we have leaked images of the Razr 60, which is the more budget-friendly folding model set to debut as the Razr 2025 in the US. The images appear to be high-quality promotional shots, and their release shortly before the launch event is not unexpected.
The Moto Razr 60 seems to retain a design similar to its predecessor, though there appear to be changes in texture and color. There have been previous mentions of a possible wood finish for the Razr Plus, which could also be seen in the more affordable Razr model.
The new images showcase various color options: the blue (Gibraltar Sea) features a textured finish reminiscent of the canvas feel found on the Edge 60 Fusion. The green (Spring Bud) is particularly striking and appears to be made of vegan leather, while the white model (Lightest Sky) also has a textured appearance, making it more visually interesting than a flat color.
Beyond the design, the focus on the cover display is particularly noteworthy. Motorola has excelled in this aspect, outperforming Samsung in terms of usability. Although the Moto 60's display is smaller than that of the Moto 60 Ultra, it still provides sufficient space and wraps around the camera lenses for an appealing design.
The images reveal the cover display being utilized effectively, including previews of photos to allow subjects to see how they will appear. We also see a photo montage on the cover screen, a variety of apps, customization controls, and navigation icons.
These features contribute to the Razr being a highly functional phone. While it can fold in half for convenience, the ability to use the cover screen for numerous functions enhances its appeal, particularly with quick access to applications.
While the specifics of the user interface and any new features remain to be seen, we know that Moto AI is a focus for these new devices. From the budget-friendly Edge 60 Fusion to these folding models, we anticipate that Moto AI will play a prominent role, offering a range of useful features.
These features may include summarizing notifications, recording and transcribing, creating journal entries, and using generative AI for image creation. Although this is a new development for Motorola, it is likely to align with offerings from other manufacturers. Thus, the new Razr may gain popularity due to its attractive colors and finishes, rather than solely for the new AI functionalities.
All details will be unveiled on April 24.
