The scenes from Zach Cregger’s Weapons are incredibly frightening.
**Weapons | Teaser**
A significant amount of Zach Cregger’s *Weapons* has been shrouded in mystery. Warner Bros. has kept images, videos, characters, and plot details confidential … until now.
The studio has unveiled the first teaser trailer for *Weapons*, showcasing spine-chilling footage that hints at a sinister mystery. The video opens with an alarm clock displaying 2:17 a.m. As the ticking sound grows louder, a man addresses a worried parent, saying, “Mr. Graff, I understand your passion, and I'm willing to have these conversations with you, because heaven forbid, if it were my child, I'd be demanding answers too.”
Seventeen out of eighteen children from the same class left their homes one night in the small town of Maybrook. These children were filmed racing through their neighborhoods, yet what they are running towards and the reasons behind their actions remain unclear.
“Those kids walked out of those homes,” another character, who appears to be Josh Brolin, remarks in reaction to the unsettling video. “No one pulled them out.”
The teaser wraps up with the provocative question, “What do you see that I don’t?”
The video also directs viewers to a website for additional information, Maybrookmissing.com, which features a brief update regarding the events of that ominous night as the case “continues to puzzle investigators.”
*Weapons* features Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.
Cregger serves as the writer and director of *Weapons*, the eagerly awaited follow-up to *Barbarian*, which was one of the unexpected success stories of 2022.
Warner Bros. is optimistic about the potential success of *Weapons*. New Line Cinema, a subsidiary of Warner Bros., acquired the rights to the film in a competitive bidding process that reached around $38 million.
Warner Bros. reiterated its confidence in *Weapons* by advancing its release date from January 2026 to August 8, 2025. The original date had been allocated for Paul Thomas Anderson’s *One Battle After Another*, which has now been rescheduled for September 2025.
