We are just a few days away from OnePlus’ upcoming launch, where the Chinese company has confirmed that it will introduce the OnePlus 13T. Rumors about this device have been circulating for several months, and although we still lack complete details, OnePlus has confirmed several features of the compact phone.

The announcement of the OnePlus 13T was made on April Fool’s Day when OnePlus mentioned at the end of a social media post that the device would be unveiled later this month. Since then, the phone has been spotted in various benchmark tests and a leaked marketing video, which showcased it operating on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

We have also seen an official image of the device from the back, revealing a design with a square camera module in the upper left corner, flat edges, and three color variants. OnePlus president Louis Lee compared the front top of the device with the Apple iPhone 16 Pro, highlighting its ultra-slim bezels and punch-hole front camera.

What does the latest OnePlus 13T update reveal?

Ahead of its reveal on April 24, OnePlus has confirmed another important specification – the battery. It was earlier reported that the battery would exceed 6,000mAh, but through OnePlus' official Weibo account, it has been confirmed that the OnePlus 13T will feature “the world’s first 6,260mAh glacier battery.”

The glacier battery refers to a new battery technology developed by OnePlus for its smartphones, designed to provide higher energy density, a longer lifespan, and faster charging capabilities. This technology has previously been introduced in the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, although that model had a slightly lower capacity of 6,100mAh.

While not confirmed for the OnePlus 13T, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro supported 100W fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 1% to 100% in just 36 minutes.

The Weibo post also revealed that the OnePlus 13T will weigh 185g and emphasized that it “eliminates concerns about battery life in compact phones.” There was also a humorous remark about putting an elephant in the refrigerator, saying: “How many steps does it take to put an elephant in the refrigerator? The Big Devil of Small Screens tells you, just one step, this one.”

At this point, there is not much left to disclose, especially since the most recent Weibo post also showcased the device from the front. However, the complete specifications, design, and pricing will be announced on April 24.

OnePlus has officially confirmed that it is set to launch the OnePlus 13T, a new compact flagship smartphone. This model aims to re-establish the T line of OnePlus devices, which has not been seen since the OnePlus 10T in 2022. Before diving into the phone, it's worth noting the quirky way OnePlus confirmed this, which had a humorous twist.

The company took to its official Weibo account to announce the upcoming reveal, raising concerns about April Fool’s Day and the likelihood of pranks online. The accompanying video is entertaining and worth the three-minute watch.

The OnePlus 13 Mini (or 13T, depending on the naming convention) is reportedly going to feature a larger battery than its flagship counterpart, as per leaker Digital Chat Station. The tipster claims that the OnePlus 13 Mini will have a 6,200mAh battery compared to the 6,000mAh battery of the OnePlus 13. Given the smaller size of the OnePlus 13 Mini, this increased battery capacity is quite impressive. Moreover, it will have a 6.3-inch display instead of the 6.8-inch screen of the OnePlus 13, likely resulting in a significant reduction in power needs.

One limitation of the highly praised OnePlus Watch 3 is that it is only available in a single case size. However, with the impending release of an Oppo smartwatch in China, it seems the company could be ready to change this. The Oppo Watch X2 Mini is scheduled for an official launch on April 10 and is currently available for pre-order in China, potentially serving as a model for a future OnePlus Watch 3 Mini.

To provide context, Oppo and OnePlus formed a strategic partnership in 2021, allowing both brands to share research, development, software, and camera resources. While they release distinct products, there are many similarities. The OnePlus Watch 3 has an Oppo counterpart known as the Oppo Watch X2, with both devices being nearly identical.
