As he continues to promote *Sinners*, actor Delroy Lindo has also taken the opportunity to discuss a film project that ultimately didn’t materialize. In a recent interview with *Entertainment Weekly*, Lindo talked about his involvement in Marvel's endeavor to revive Blade. He was cast to star alongside Mahershala Ali in the lead role but departed from the film before it moved forward.
“When Marvel approached me, they seemed genuinely interested in my input,” Lindo shared. “In the discussions I had with the producers, the writer, and the director at the time, it was all heading towards a very inclusive approach. Conceptually, it was incredibly exciting, but it was also thrilling in terms of the character being developed.”
“For whatever reason, it just went off the rails,” Lindo reflected, noting that the enthusiasm surrounding the project wasn’t sufficient to bring it to fruition.
Lindo did not specify the exact character he was meant to portray but likened it to the renowned activist Marcus Garvey. “I’m not saying he would have been a full-on Garvey-ite. Not at all, but in terms of this man's philosophy, his ethos, and what motivated him,” he clarified. “He was a character who had established a community, a Black community. He was a leader of that community.”
Blade has now been removed from Marvel’s release schedule after cycling through multiple writers and directors. The film remains in a state of creative uncertainty, leading to the possibility that Wesley Snipes’ portrayal of Blade may continue to be the only one.

Best Marvel movies in MCU’s Phase Four, ranked
Many fans view Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a low point for the franchise. After the MCU seemingly reached its peak with *Avengers: Endgame*, Marvel Studios struggled under the weight of its ambitions to cater to audiences while producing a vast amount of content in a short period. However, the MCU did yield some standout films like *Shang-Chi* and *Spider-Man: No Way Home*, showcasing great potential with its ongoing Multiverse Saga. While the franchise has faced challenges in regaining its footing, it’s only fair to remind fans of its strengths by examining both the best and worst films of Phase Four.

Disney removes Blade from its 2025 release date, adding three Marvel movies in 2028
"Blade has been delayed indefinitely" has become a familiar headline. Indeed, it has happened again.
In a move that comes as no surprise, Disney has taken Marvel Studios' *Blade* off its release calendar. The film's theatrical debut was expected on November 7, 2025, but now, *Predator: Badlands*, a film by Dan Trachtenberg starring Elle Fanning, will take over Blade's previous release slot.
Don Cheadle hints that one troubled Marvel movie could redeem Secret Invasion’s biggest twist
It’s been a while since Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have seen the real James "Rhodey" Rhodes, played by Don Cheadle. Last year, Marvel Studios revealed in its poorly received miniseries *Secret Invasion* that a shape-shifting Skrull named Raava had secretly impersonated Rhodey for an indefinite time. It was later confirmed by *Secret Invasion* director Ali Selim that Rhodey was originally abducted by Raava and her fellow Skrulls shortly after he sustained his spinal injury in 2016's *Captain America: Civil War*.
This revelation sparked a significant divide among MCU fans. Many were unsettled to learn that—among other things—what was portrayed as Rhodey mourning his best friend, Tony Stark, at the end of 2019's *Avengers: Endgame* was not actually him. However, Don Cheadle doesn't appear to have an issue with the twist… as long as Marvel Studios follows through with its initial plan for Rhodey.
