Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role in season 2 of Ahsoka.
Lucasfilm
While Lucasfilm announced most of its significant news on the first day of Star Wars Celebration, it held back a few surprises for the second day. At the Ahsoka season 2 panel, series creator Dave Filoni and lead actress Rosario Dawson confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker.
Christensen, who first portrayed the adult Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones in 2002 and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in 2005, returned to the character for Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries in 2022 before taking on a larger role in the first season of Ahsoka. Anakin’s Force ghost last appeared in the season 1 finale, watching over Ahsoka (Dawson) as she became trapped in a distant galaxy.
During the panel, it was also revealed that Rory McCann from Game of Thrones will assume the role of Baylan Skol, the former Jedi originally played by the late Ray Stevenson in Ahsoka's first season. Skol differentiated himself from the series' other antagonists as he was neither a Sith nor purely evil. Instead, he displayed indifference toward the light and dark sides of the Force while pursuing his own agenda. Filoni confirmed that Skol's journey will continue alongside Ahsoka's in season 2.
A significant plotline carried over from the previous season is the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), recognized as one of the Empire's most brilliant military strategists. Filoni announced that Admiral Ackbar of the New Republic will appear in the second season and confront Thrawn directly. He also humorously mentioned his restraint from including Ackbar’s iconic line “it’s a trap!” from Return of the Jedi.
Filming for Ahsoka season 2 is expected to commence later this month. Additionally, it was announced at Star Wars Celebration that Darth Maul will have his own animated series debuting in 2026. Lucasfilm also formally announced Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling’s Star Wars film and provided a first look at The Mandalorian and Grogu.

New Andor season 2 video teases monumental Star Wars event
The path to rebellion becomes more intense in Andor season 2. Disney unveiled a special preview of Andor season 2, featuring behind-the-scenes glimpses of upcoming episodes and interviews with the cast and crew. A standout moment occurs when the video shifts to Ghorman, highlighting a crowd of protesters unified in their chants against Imperial forces.
In Star Wars lore, Ghorman is remembered for the Ghorman Massacre, where in 2 BBY, Imperial troops opened fire on a group of peaceful protesters, leading to a horrific slaughter. This tragedy prompted Senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila to resign from the Senate and denounce Emperor Sheev Palpatine. Mothma’s resignation and subsequent speech became a rallying point for freedom and the foundation for the Rebel Alliance.
