Major League (1989)
Paramount Pictures
Although it might not seem like it due to the chilly weather, April signifies the beginning of baseball season. The Cleveland Guardians are currently in second place in the AL Central, but over 30 years ago, the Cleveland Indians were seen as a joke in Major League. In this fictional narrative, new owner Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton) intends to relocate the team to Miami as ticket sales decline.
Phelps assembles a team of novices, aging players, and underqualified athletes to form a losing team. The plan succeeds until some players — including Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger) and Rick Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) — discover Phelps’ relocation intentions and unite with a shared goal: to win the entire championship. Major League leans heavily on comedy rather than drama, but get ready to sing Wild Thing when the Indians have their chance at victory in the playoff game.

Hereditary (2018)
A24
This summer, Ari Aster is set to release his fourth film, Eddington. Seven years ago, Aster made his directorial debut with Hereditary, the feel-good film of the year… just kidding. It's quite the opposite. Hereditary is shockingly terrifying as Aster weaves a haunting tale of grief and trauma.
Following the death of her mother, Annie Graham (Toni Collette) and her family — husband Steve (Gabriel Byrne), son Peter (Alex Wolff), and daughter Charlie (Milly Shapiro) — struggle to cope with their grief and drift further apart. After another tragic event strikes the family, dark secrets about their lineage come to light, leading to some of the most unsettling moments you will encounter in the genre. While Hereditary may keep you awake at night, at least you'll fall asleep knowing you witnessed a true master at work behind the lens.

Liar Liar (1997)
Universal Pictures
In 1997, Jim Carrey was at the peak of his career. Following an iconic 1994 with Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber, Carrey secured an unprecedented $20 million salary for 1996’s The Cable Guy. At the height of his success, Carrey starred in 1997’s Liar Liar, a comedy that showcases his physical humor.
Attorney Fletcher Reede (Carrey) excels in the courtroom due to his natural talent for deceit. Unfortunately, Fletcher’s lies spill over into his personal life, negatively impacting his relationship with his young son, Max (Justin Cooper). On his birthday, Max makes a wish for his father to tell the truth. Somehow, the wish comes true, and Fletcher finds himself unable to lie. While honesty is commendable, it's not ideal when you need to win a court case that could change your life.
