Amazon is looking to rival SpaceX’s Starlink internet service by deploying thousands of its own Project Kuiper satellites in low-Earth orbit.
The initial launch of Project Kuiper satellites was scheduled for April 9 aboard a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral in Florida, but inclement weather led to the cancellation of the planned liftoff.
Since that time, there has been little news, and it remains uncertain when the rocket carrying the satellites will ignite its engines to ascend.
Recent news reports have indicated that the inaugural launch of Amazon's Project Kuiper has been rescheduled for Monday, April 14 at 7 p.m. ET, but ULA has yet to verify this on their website or social media platforms.
For now, those keeping track of the situation should remain patient and await an official announcement from ULA.

Like SpaceX’s Starlink service, Project Kuiper will utilize thousands of satellites in low-Earth orbit to deliver fast and dependable internet service worldwide, including to underserved and unserved communities.
The first deployment is anticipated to occur either on Monday or within the next few weeks, sending the initial group of 27 Project Kuiper satellites into orbit.
While 27 is the maximum number of Project Kuiper satellites that can be transported by ULA’s Atlas V rocket in a single launch, its newer Vulcan rocket can carry up to 45 Amazon satellites in one mission. Blue Origin’s latest rocket, the New Glenn, will also be utilized for Project Kuiper satellite launches, providing Amazon with multiple options for expanding its satellite constellation.
Project Kuiper aims to complete its network of over 3,200 satellites by 2029, establishing global broadband coverage to effectively compete with Starlink. However, Starlink's larger fleet and technological advantage may enable SpaceX to maintain a competitive edge over Amazon's Project Kuiper at least into the early 2030s.
