The stylish Chipolo Pop item tracker has become my new favorite travel companion.
The Chipolo Pop is more than just a regular item tracker. Unlike the Apple AirTag and many competitors, the Pop is compatible with both iPhone and Android devices and connects to an app that provides enhanced features. It assists in locating misplaced items by either emitting a sound or guiding you to them on a map. Available in vibrant new colors, the Chipolo Pop signifies the brand's return to its core values that customers have cherished in the past. This device has become my preferred travel accessory for my Android phone.
Chipolo Pop is ideal for solo travelers
You can link your Chipolo Pop with the company’s mobile app on both Android and iOS devices. After setting it up, you'll gain access to a variety of features, including the capability to use it as a remote shutter button.
I have connected it with my Galaxy S25 Ultra. The pairing process was straightforward: I downloaded the app, double-pressed the Pop, and the app instantly recognized it. I believe the Chipolo Pop is particularly suited for solo travelers due to these three features:
1. Remote Shutter Button

As a frequent solo traveler utilizing the Galaxy S25 Ultra, I was let down when Samsung removed the remote shutter feature from the S Pen. However, the Chipolo Pop addresses this limitation to some degree. The app includes a "Take a Selfie" button that opens a viewfinder, allowing you to position the phone at a distance and double-press the Chipolo Pop for a quick photo.
I wish it could directly connect to the phone’s native camera app to allow me to capture portraits or videos without having to open the Chipolo app. Currently, the feature is restricted to taking 9:16 photos from both the front and rear cameras.
2. Call Your Phone

You can utilize the Chipolo Pop to call your misplaced phone if it’s within Bluetooth range, which now extends up to 90 meters. This enhanced range is a valuable upgrade because, honestly, your phone isn't always right next to you. As someone who often misplaces their phone, I appreciate this feature.
For those wondering, it works even when your phone is on silent. Just double-press the Pop, and your phone will ring. The sound is loud enough to be heard across an entire room.
3. Out-of-Range Alerts

If you’re part of the Apple ecosystem, you're likely familiar with how your iPhone notifies you when you leave an item behind. The out-of-range alerts on the Chipolo Pop provide a similar feature for Android users. According to the company, these alerts are “optimized to reduce false alarms by adjusting to real-life circumstances.”
I haven't had the chance to test it yet, but it’s said to evaluate factors like your step count, changes in movement (such as transitioning from walking to driving), and whether you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. This function seems particularly helpful for those who are frequently on the go.
Chipolo Pop Is Colorful, Customizable, and Priced Like an AirTag
The Chipolo Pop is available in vibrant blue, red, green, and yellow, along with classic black and white options. It is made from 50% recycled plastic and is larger in diameter than an AirTag, although it has the same thickness. It also has an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.
You can personalize the ringtone through the app to match your preferences. Thanks to Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find My Device, the Chipolo Pop also includes built-in safety and protection features, alerting you if an unfamiliar tracker is moving with you.
Its price is $29 / 30 British pounds / 35 Euros. You can purchase a Chipolo Pop from the company’s website or Amazon. It will also be available through T-Mobile stores starting next month.
