Worries about AI could lead to the prolongation of the ongoing strike by video game voice actors.

Since July 2024, SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild — American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) members have been on strike concerning the use of their work and likeness in video games, with new worries emerging that may prolong the strike. A message dispatched to union members points to “alarming loopholes” that endanger members and expose them to “AI abuse,” according to information shared with Eurogamer. Yuri Lowenthal, the voice behind Spider-Man, spoke to Variety earlier this month and captured the situation succinctly. “For me, it comes down to three key issues. First is consent – we don’t want our recorded data to be used to create a performance we had no input on. Second, compensation – if something like that happens, we deserve to share in the profits, or else actors won't get paid anymore, and our industry will be done. Lastly, control – having the ability to monitor that type of use and understand where it’s going.” The scenario is intricate, featuring various components and diverse viewpoints, but Lowenthal’s remarks encapsulate the guild's worries. Many voice actors, including Jennifer Hale (the voice of female Shepard in Mass Effect) have echoed similar sentiments. Audrey Cooling, a representative for the game producers' group, responded to SAG-AFTRA’s concerns with the following statement (also provided to Eurogamer): “We have suggested a deal that includes over 15 percent wage increases for SAG-AFTRA represented performers in video games, along with improved health and safety measures, industry-leading guidelines on AI digital replicas in games, and additional compensation for the use of an actor’s performance in other titles.”
SAG-AFTRA has not yet publicly addressed the latest proposal. Until a favorable agreement for its members is reached, the strike is expected to persist. SAG has advised non-affiliated members to refuse work until video game studios consent to the terms. This isn't the first instance of voice actors striking over career issues. There was a previous strike from late 2016 to 2017 regarding fair pay, culminating in a resolution in September 2017.

Best way to farm Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can not only craft impressive armor but also upgrade it using Armor Spheres. To ensure the best defense, it’s crucial to enhance your best armor quickly. Eventually, you will exhaust your supply of Armor Spheres and will need to hunt for more. Once you reach High Rank, a new array of armor will be available for upgrading. There are several methods to acquire Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds, but only one farming strategy stands out as the most effective.
How to farm Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds
The most efficient way to farm Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds is by defeating High Rank monsters and smelting surplus monster materials for Armor Spheres. As you progress in the main campaign and reach Azuz, you will unlock the Smelting Foundry, which allows you to convert monster parts into Armor Spheres. As you repeatedly battle the same monsters, you will begin to accumulate excess materials. Once they’re no longer needed, take them to the Smelting Foundry to transform them into Armor Spheres.
I can’t stop thinking about this enigmatic new game about AI
It’s Monday morning as I pen this. My day is just getting started and I’m organizing my to-do list. As I check off tasks, I pause to think if there are any recent games I’ve played that I meant to write about. None come to mind at first. After all, my weekend consisted of watching wrestling and a live stream related to the Oscars with friends. Wait, didn't I also play something? My memory is a bit fuzzy (probably due to overeating pizza), but one game starts to come back to me. Something strange. Disturbing. What was it called? Centum. Was it just a pizza-induced hallucination? My Steam account suggests otherwise, reminding me that I embarked on a three-hour point-and-click adventure over the weekend amidst social events. I didn't forget what I played; it just felt so surreal that it seems like an experience from another time entirely.
The hardest Xbox Achievements of all time
The Xbox 360 changed gaming in many ways, but perhaps its most significant contribution was the Achievement system. This feature added extra challenges and tasks in games that players could choose to complete to enhance their total Gamer Score, serving as a badge of honor. Achievement hunting quickly became a compulsive endeavor for many, though not all challenges were simple. Players now had to go beyond merely finishing the toughest games; they were also tasked with unlocking hidden endings or defeating secret bosses. A poorly designed Achievement list can deter many from even the best Xbox Series X titles, but these particular
