      Verizon has raised the discounted price of its 5G Home Plus internet service without increasing its base rate, now making the offer less attractive for some potential customers looking to change their internet service provider.

      As reported by a post on Reddit (via Android Authority), the major telecommunications company has lowered the discount price for the 5G Home Plus internet plan from $35 to $25. Consequently, new customers will need to pay $55 per month if they switch to Verizon, which is a $10 hike from the $45 monthly rate that current customers are enjoying for the Home Plus plan. However, the standard price of Verizon’s 5G Home Plus remains unchanged at $80 monthly.

      What may make the new discount price appealing to new customers is the free subscription perk they can choose via Verizon billing, as noted by several commenters. This allows new customers to select from options like the Netflix and Max bundle, Apple Music, or the Disney+ bundle, with each subscription service valued at around $10.

      This adjustment in discounts comes a month after Verizon announced an $8 increase for customers with four or more lines on Mobile Protect plans, meaning they will now pay $68 a month for phone insurance instead of $60. This price change will take effect on March 27.

      While a $10 increase in the discount price of Verizon’s 5G Home Plus internet service may not seem significant, especially with the inclusion of the free subscription perk, it ultimately diminishes the value of the service. This effect is compounded when customers are asked to pay more without prior notice.
