Throughout a remarkable career, Hans Zimmer has composed some of the most memorable film scores of the last three decades. While Zimmer's work spans multiple genres, he recently stated in an interview on Happy Sad Confused that he doesn’t intend to join the MCU in the near future. Host Josh Horowitz asked, "Are you feeling superhero fatigue? I’m surprised the official MCU hasn’t reached out to you, or if they did, you turned them down?" Zimmer has already scored films like Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Wonder Woman 1984, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, indicating he isn’t against superhero films in general.

In the interview, Zimmer explained, “They have, but the timing wasn’t right. Honestly, I’m focused on other things at the moment. Look, I’ve done the trifecta. I’ve composed for Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman! What else can I do? Some lesser-known characters? Probably.” He humbly noted, “That was a bit arrogant of me to say, but actually, Kevin Feige told me, ‘Hans, what are you complaining about?’”

Although there are certainly Marvel films with exceptional scores, Zimmer’s expertise would certainly infuse a unique energy into any project he joined. However, it appears that Zimmer is satisfied with his collection of Oscars. He has already created iconic scores for films such as Dune, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, and Top Gun: Maverick, among many others.
