James Bond is now under Amazon's ownership. On February 20, Amazon MGM Studios took creative control of the Bond franchise from longtime producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. Wilson and Broccoli will continue as co-owners of the espionage series and will establish a new joint venture to manage the intellectual property rights of James Bond. With Amazon in control, they are likely to start the search for the next actor to portray Bond. Additionally, they need to find a director for Bond 26. Sometimes, the most apparent choice is the best choice, and that is Christopher Nolan.

According to The Wrap, Nolan is considered the "top choice and the ideal filmmaker" for the next Bond film. Nolan has been associated with the franchise for over a decade, and he expressed interest in directing a Bond movie after his 2020 film, Tenet. However, Broccoli was unwilling to grant Nolan final cut, leading him to focus on creating Oppenheimer, a compelling drama that won seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. "If Amazon wants to uphold the legacy, they should do everything possible to secure Chris Nolan, even if it takes time," a producer mentioned to TheWrap.

If Amazon wishes to align with Nolan, they will need to wait until the British director completes The Odyssey for Universal, which is currently in production and set for a theatrical debut on July 17, 2026. Given that Amazon's first Bond film must be a significant success, it seems prudent for them to wait for Nolan to finish The Odyssey before proceeding with Bond 26.

Conclave director Edward Berger is another name linked to the Bond franchise. While speaking to Variety, Berger expressed his interest in directing a Bond movie, although this was prior to Wilson and Broccoli entrusting the creative direction to Amazon.

According to Gambling.com, Steve McQueen has the best odds (-150) to direct Bond, followed by Berger (+150). Nolan's odds are also in the running (+400), not far behind Berger.

Osgood Perkins is unlikely to enter the Bond world. During a Reddit AMA, Perkins was asked if he would ever direct a Bond movie, to which he firmly replied, "No, because f*** Jeff Bezos."

James Gunn shares first image of Milly Alcock as Supergirl

Supergirl is on its way. Filming has commenced for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. To mark the start of production, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn released an image of Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl. “Excited to see filming begin at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden on Supergirl, with Craig Gillespie directing and the amazing Milly Alcock as our Kara Zor-El,” Gunn shared on X. “Craig brings a fantastic sensibility to this story, and Milly embodies the unique #Supergirl envisioned by Tom King, Bilquis Evely & Ana Nogueira.”

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is inspired by Tom King’s 2022 comic book series of the same name, illustrated by Bilquis Evely. In the comic, Kara, Superman's cousin, travels across the galaxy and eventually encounters Ruthye Marye Knoll, an honorable warrior seeking revenge against the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills.

Eve Ridley will portray Ruthye Marye Knoll, and Matthias Schoenaerts will take on the role of Krem of the Yellow Hills. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham are cast as Supergirl's parents. After his role in Aquaman, Jason Momoa joins Gunn's new DC Universe as Lobo, who will also feature in Supergirl.

Dumb Money's Craig Gillespie is directing Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow based on a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. Gunn and Peter Safran are producing the film.

Before Supergirl, Alcock's version of Kara is expected to make a brief appearance in Gunn's Superman.
