NYT Strands for today: clues, spangram, and solutions for Saturday, March 1.
Strands is a brand-new daily puzzle offered by the New York Times. It presents a more complex version of the traditional word search, requiring sharp observation skills to complete.
Similar to Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can occasionally be quite challenging. There's no harm in seeking assistance if you find yourself struggling. If you're in need of the solutions for today’s Strands puzzle, you can refer to the answers provided below.
How to play Strands
Each Strands puzzle starts with the objective of locating the “theme words” concealed within the grid of letters. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; confirm the final letter by double-tapping it. When you identify a correct word, the letters will be highlighted in blue and will be unselectable.
If you discover a word that isn’t a theme word, it’s still beneficial! For every three non-theme words that are at least four letters long, you will receive a hint — one of the theme word’s letters will be unveiled, and you will need to unscramble it.
Every letter in the grid is utilized to form the theme words without any overlap. Each letter will be employed only once.
Each puzzle features one “spangram,” a unique theme word (or words) that encapsulates the puzzle’s theme and spans two opposite edges of the board. Once you find the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
The aim is to finish the puzzle quickly while minimizing the use of hints.

You can currently get Death Stranding for free on PC. Here’s how.
Death Stranding is currently available for free on PC through the Epic Games Store. Players have until May 25 to claim their copy before another mystery game becomes available for free. The Epic Games Store has a well-established tradition of offering free games. Just last month, during the Easter weekend, it distributed copies of Dying Light: Enhanced Edition. Since Death Stranding typically retails for $30 on the Epic Games Store, this is a significant free offering, so be sure to claim your copy while it's available.
Today’s Wordle answer has changed due to Roe v. Wade.
There are days when Wordle players receive different answers based on the browser they use to access the game. Today is one of those instances, but for a vastly different reason. The New York Times altered today’s Wordle answer owing to its unintended connection with the Supreme Court's forthcoming ruling on Roe v. Wade. The original answer to Wordle 324 was meant to be "fetus.” Wordle creator Josh Wardle had scheduled this solution over a year ago, long before The New York Times acquired the game during its peak popularity in January. Everdeen Mason, editorial director for New York Times Games, stated that the answer was changed to something completely different due to its relation to the Supreme Court's leaked draft opinion from last week, which suggested overturning the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion ruling, causing widespread concern across the country.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is finally arriving on PC on March 30.
Kojima Productions and 505 Games' Death Stranding Director's Cut will be released for PC on March 30, 2022. It will be priced at $40 for new players, while those who already own Death Stranding on PC can upgrade for a nominal fee. Death Stranding Director's Cut is an enhanced edition of Hideo Kojima’s most experimental game to date. It follows Norman Reedus' character, Sam Porter Bridges, as he journeys across America to reconnect humanity. In our 2019 review of the game, Digital Trends noted that "it won't change the minds of Kojima detractors who believe he should focus solely on filmmaking, but the game's thoughtful social elements highlight why he remains a pivotal figure in the gaming industry."
