The compact X5i party speaker from BlueAnt delivers 120 watts of power and comes with two karaoke microphones.
Bringing the celebration from Australia, BlueAnt, an Australian audio brand, has introduced the X5i party speaker, a new portable device that produces 120 watts of audio, features a built-in light show, and comes with two wireless microphones for karaoke. Priced at $270 and offering up to 30 hours of battery life, the company is optimistic that the mix of audio quality, lighting, and karaoke capabilities will make the X5i popular.
Designed for those who want high volume in a lightweight package (weighing under 10 pounds), the X5i is equipped with dual 2.3-inch tweeters and a single 6.5-inch mid/bass driver, enhanced by BlueAnt's "psycho-acoustic" bass technology, which promises a robust and immersive sound experience. Additionally, a dedicated bass boost button allows users to enhance the low-end sound further.
This isn't BlueAnt's first venture into the party speaker market; the X5i serves as a smaller counterpart to the more powerful 160-watt BlueAnt X6, which retails for $479 in Australia (approximately $303 in the U.S.). While the premium X6 targets those seeking greater power, the X5i aims to reach a broader audience with its more affordable price and portable design (as suggested by marketing images).
Beyond its impressive power, the X5i also incorporates a light show. Similar to many competing party speakers from brands like JBL and Soundcore, the X5i features seven lively lighting modes that pulse with your music, thanks to LEDs lining the speaker's frame. Whether you prefer a gentle glow or a full strobe display, the X5i’s lighting effects can transform any space into a vibrant disco.
In terms of competition, BlueAnt stands out by including two wireless microphones. Karaoke enthusiasts will appreciate not having to pay extra for the chance to belt out their favorite Sabrina Carpenter songs. The microphones charge directly from the speaker, eliminating the hassle of needing batteries when a performance of "Espresso" requires an encore, and they offer 50 hours of playtime. According to BlueAnt, the microphones have a range that can “reach around corners,” making them ideal for mingling and engaging with the crowd.
Despite its powerful output, the BlueAnt X5i is also designed for ease of transport. It features a built-in holder for phones and tablets, keeping DJ controls easily accessible, while its IP54 splashproof rating protects it from light rain and spilled drinks. Furthermore, with a built-in power bank, users can charge their devices while streaming from their favorite music services.
For its compact size and reasonable price, the X5i is notably versatile in terms of connectivity. It supports Bluetooth 5.4, USB, and AUX input, accommodating different music playback preferences. Users can even connect two X5i speakers for stereo sound or more, should they desire louder audio in larger party settings.
The BlueAnt X5i party speaker is available now on Amazon for $270.
