Masters of the Universe is officially in production.
Amazon MGM Studios revealed the first look at Nicholas Galitzine as Adam Grayskull/He-Man. Although Galitzine's face is obscured, his hands are clearly visible gripping the handle of the Sword of Power.
Galitzine shared the photo on his Instagram, mentioning that transforming into He-Man necessitated “several months of rigorous training.”
“Our director Travis Knight has put together an incredible ensemble cast and crafted a breathtaking world of Eternia and its surroundings,” Galitzine stated in the caption. “I’m eager for you to see it. More details will come, but for now, enjoy this glimpse of the Sword of Power. By the power of Grayskull!”
In addition to Galitzine, Masters of the Universe features Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, James Purefoy as King Randor, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein.

Travis Knight will direct the live-action Masters of the Universe from a script by Chris Butler. Based on Mattel’s media franchise, Masters of the Universe will tell the story of Adam Grayskull, who crash-lands on Earth and loses the Power Sword. Years later, Prince Adam must reclaim his sword and transform into He-Man to rescue his home planet Eternia from Skeletor.
Masters of the Universe is set to premiere in theaters on June 5, 2026.

Masters of the Universe has cast its Teela.
According to Deadline, Camila Mendes is set to play Teela, the brave warrior and Captain of Eternia's Royal Guard, who is responsible for safeguarding the royal family. Mendes joins previously announced Nicholas Galitzine, who will portray Prince Adam, a royal family member who secretly becomes the superhero He-Man.
Netflix casts He-Man, will release live-action movie
After nearly 35 years, a new live-action Masters of the Universe movie is finally in motion. The Hollywood Reporter states that Netflix has acquired the rights to produce a Masters of the Universe film from Sony Pictures, which previously held the rights from Mattel. Along with this announcement, it was revealed that Kyle Allen has been cast as the new live-action He-Man, a role once played by Dolph Lundgren in the 1987 Masters of the Universe film.
Allen will take over from Noah Centineo, who was initially cast as He-Man in 2019 but left the project in April 2020. Allen's notable credits include his lead role in The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, and a supporting role in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story remake. He also had a recurring part in FX's American Horror Story: Apocalypse and will portray Romeo in the upcoming film Rosaline.
