**Modern Love (2019)**
*Modern Love - Official Trailer | Prime Video*
This Amazon Original anthology series offers the flexibility of recapping each episode, letting you choose which stories to watch. Since each episode is independent, it shares a distinct tale of love. The first episode, for example, centers on Maggie (Cristin Milioti), a single woman in New York who forms a friendship with her building’s doorman, Guzman (Laurentiu Possa). He provides her with dating advice as she navigates various relationships, not all of which meet his approval.
There’s also a story about Sarah (Tina Fey) and Dennis (John Slattery), a married couple trying to mend their relationship, and another featuring a middle-school girl named Katie (Lulu Wilson) as she grapples with her feelings for her classmate Alexa (Grace Edwards). Each narrative is refreshingly diverse, ranging from sentimental to sweet, heartwarming to poignant, and boasts a remarkable cast across its two seasons.

**Some Like It Hot (1959)**
*Some Like It Hot (1959) Trailer | MGM Studios*
More of a screwball comedy than a traditional romance, Some Like It Hot perfectly embodies the essence of a classic rom-com with a touch of 1950s charm. Joe (Tony Curtis) is an impulsive saxophonist and womanizer with a gambling habit, while his anxious friend Jerry (Jack Lemmon) tags along. After witnessing a murder, the two escape by disguising themselves as women and joining an all-female band. Both are enchanted by the band’s singer, Sugar (Marilyn Monroe), but face complications since she believes they are women and confides in them as friends.
Upon arriving in Miami, Joe attempts to woo Sugar while adopting a different male identity, all while an elderly millionaire becomes infatuated with “Daphne,” who is actually Jerry, unaware that “she” is a man. The ensuing misadventures make for an entertaining watch. Some Like It Hot received six Academy Award nominations and is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made.

Is fate a real concept? I Want You Back delves into this question as Peter (Charlie Day) and Emma (Jenny Slate) find themselves simultaneously heartbroken after being dumped by their partners. They meet while mourning their respective breakups and bond over their shared experiences. They then decide to help each other win back their exes, leading to a predictable but enjoyable storyline.
Regardless of its familiar plot, I Want You Back is filled with humor, romance, and absurdity as the duo employs silly tactics to reconnect with their clearly mismatched partners, all the while drawing closer to each other in the process.
