A collaboration between China’s Xiaomi and Germany’s Leica Camera AG has been thriving since 2022. A recent leak indicates that their partnership with the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Ultra might become even stronger. A report from Innogyan (via Android Authority) has unveiled a hands-on image of the soon-to-be-launched flagship device, which appears to draw inspiration from the renowned Leica M11 camera. As explained by Android Authority, the leaked image should be viewed horizontally to better appreciate Xiaomi’s design influences. Leaker Smart Pikachu has also provided various color options alongside the Leica M11 camera to further emphasize this link.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the successor to the popular Xiaomi 14 Ultra might be announced on Wednesday, February 26. The eagerly awaited Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to include numerous advanced camera upgrades, enhancing the strengths of its predecessor.
The rumored camera configuration features a 50-megapixel main camera for capturing detailed shots, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom for distant images, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera optimized for low-light performance and offering an impressive zoom range, and a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera ideal for expansive landscapes.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a component that may also be found in the standard and Pro versions of the Xiaomi 15 series. This chipset, utilized in both the Samsung Galaxy S25 series and the recently launched OnePlus 13, is designed to deliver efficient processing speeds and support seamless multitasking.

I would love to see the Xiaomi 15 Ultra reflect the image above. A dark blue or dark green variant would look stunning, wouldn’t it? We won’t have to wait long; February 26 is just 20 days away.

I tried a new Android phone that surpasses some of the best smartphone cameras
It has been a while since I was impressed by a smartphone camera's zoom capability. With Samsung providing 100x zoom on its Galaxy S Ultra lineup, little has surprised me in the smartphone camera realm – until now.
The Oppo Find X8 series serves as the successor to last year’s Find X7 series, and along with various other enhancements, there’s also a notable improvement in zoom performance: the 30x zoom. Oppo and OnePlus have impressive cameras for shorter zoom distances, and during a recent briefing, I discovered that we can now include the 30x zoom in that list.
I took four of the best phones to NYC for an extensive camera test. Here are the results
If you’re in the U.S. and searching for a reliable smartphone camera, you’re likely to consider a device from one of four manufacturers: Samsung, Google, OnePlus, or Apple. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is widely recognized for having the finest smartphone telephoto lens in the U.S., boasting a 10x zoom. Google continues to excel with the triple-camera setup in its Pixel 9 Pro, while the OnePlus 12 delivers remarkable performance at a more budget-friendly price. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro features a 5x telephoto camera, previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max last year.
I appreciate this new iPhone camera feature, but here’s why I won’t use it
Since Apple launched its Photographic Styles feature, I’ve primarily used the Standard filter and later edited my photos in the Photos app if desired. With iOS 18, Apple introduced the option to modify Photographic Styles post-capture, prompting me to experiment with different Styles.
I quickly realized I had missed out, but also why I likely won’t make use of the feature again. A frustrating dilemma.
