      How to play Strands

      In each Strands puzzle, your objective is to uncover the "theme words" concealed in the letter grid. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the last letter to confirm. When you correctly identify a word, the letters will be highlighted in blue, indicating they are no longer selectable.

      If you stumble upon a word that isn't part of the theme, it can still be beneficial! For every three non-theme words that you discover, each containing at least four letters, you’ll receive a hint — one of the letters from a theme word will be revealed, which you will then need to unscramble.

      Every single letter in the grid is utilized to construct the theme words without any overlap. Each letter will appear once and only once.

      Each puzzle features a “spangram,” a unique theme word (or words) that encapsulate the puzzle’s theme and spans two opposite edges of the board. Identifying the spangram will cause it to be highlighted in yellow.
