      At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Lenovo announced its first portable gaming console running SteamOS - Legion Go S. The device features pre-installed SteamOS operating system based on Arch Linux, developed by Valve. Lenovo Legion Go S utilizes AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with Radeon 700M graphics, which provides high performance for gaming.

       The console features: an 8-inch 1200p touchscreen LCD screen with VRR support, up to 32GB of LPDDR5x-6400 RAM, up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD storage, and a 55Wh battery.Despite the impressive specs, the Lenovo Legion Go S uses the Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor rather than the latest Ryzen Z2 processor with Zen 5 architecture introduced by AMD the day before. However, Lenovo showed a prototype of another version of the console, the Legion Go (8.8"), which runs on Windows and features the Ryzen Z2 and an OLED display. The SteamOS operating system offers gamers: a console interface optimized for portable gaming, access to the Steam library and Steam store, cloud saves for switching between PC and console, and a Remote Play feature for streaming games from PCs. In an official press release, Lenovo emphasizes that the Legion Go S is the world's first officially licensed SteamOS-powered portable device. The company also hinted at plans to further optimize Linux drivers for its line of gaming hardware. The Lenovo Legion Go S marks an important step towards empowering gamers by providing a device with a pre-installed OS designed specifically for gaming. The integration of Linux and cloud technology makes the console a powerful tool for gamers who prefer portability and flexibility. In addition to the Legion Go S handheld gaming console, Lenovo introduced many other new products at CES 2025 to empower gamers.
