Helldivers 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Lead PlayStation Plus Lineup for August

Sony PlayStation has announced the upcoming additions to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for August, featuring two standout titles. Helldivers 2 is making its debut on the service, while the acclaimed Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will be included later this month.

These two games provide vastly different experiences, but both rank among the most significant releases in recent years.

      Diverse Titles Highlight August

According to the Sony PlayStation Blog, Helldivers 2 was released in February 2024 and quickly emerged as a major multiplayer hit of the year. Even now, over two years later, it maintains a robust player community. Although PlayStation doesn't disclose active player statistics, SteamDB indicates that nearly 100,000 players are currently active on PC alone at the time of this writing.

On the other hand, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II offers a different experience. As the follow-up to the 2018 critically lauded Kingdom Come: Deliverance, this sequel is a story-driven, single-player open-world RPG, rich in survival and simulation elements. Our review referred to it as a “magnificent medieval masterpiece,” commending its narrative, freedom of choice, combat, and expansive medieval environment.

      Many More Games Are Coming

Another notable game being added is Hell is Us, which presents a darker action-adventure experience featuring intense melee combat, exploration, and environmental discovery. Additionally, Vampire Survivors, which became a popular indie sensation in 2022, is among the easiest games on the list to lose hours playing. With straightforward controls, it ensures continuous progression, and what starts as a simple 30-minute survival run can quickly turn into chaotic gameplay.

The remainder of August’s Game Catalog lineup is quite impressive as well. Sony will also be introducing Umamusume Pretty Derby – Party Dash, Two Point Museum, Metro Exodus, and Dying Light 2. Furthermore, PlayStation Plus Premium members will have access to Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams and Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire via the Classics Catalog.

Overall, it’s a fantastic month for PlayStation Plus. Helldivers 2 will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra members globally starting August 12, while the rest of the titles will be added on August 18 unless otherwise specified by Sony.
