iOS 27 beta 3 simplifies the process of modifying the intensity of your AirPods' Adaptive Audio.
The new control is located in the same menu where you already select the listening mode.
If you've ever struggled with Bluetooth settings to adjust how much outside noise your AirPods allow in, Apple might soon make it easier for you. The iOS 27 beta 3 introduces a faster method for modifying the intensity of Adaptive Audio, conveniently placed where you’d anticipate finding it.
A shortcut for modifying Adaptive Audio
In the current stable version of iOS, changing the intensity of Adaptive Audio requires navigating through Settings, selecting Bluetooth, clicking the info button next to your AirPods, and then adjusting a slider under Audio. However, iOS 27 beta 3 streamlines this by making the intensity option accessible directly on the main AirPods settings page.
A screenshot shared by Aaron Perris on X shows that small dots have been added next to the Adaptive option in the Listening Mode slider, enabling users to easily fine-tune the intensity for quieter environments or increased awareness without leaving that screen. While the range of adjustment may be narrower than the existing Bluetooth settings slider, this new placement should make it easier for users to locate.
Part of a larger overhaul of AirPods settings
As reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up for a comprehensive redesign of the AirPods settings interface. This new Adaptive Audio shortcut is likely a component of that broader update, rather than a standalone change. It remains uncertain whether it will be included in the stable release or be removed before release this fall.
Should the shortcut launch, it will simplify on-the-go adjustments for Adaptive Audio. Additionally, it may assist users who aren't as tech-savvy in discovering that this setting exists, as it will be found in a more accessible location rather than buried in the Bluetooth settings.

I was initially doubtful about clip-style open earbuds, but after trying my first pair, I don't want to return to traditional models.
There's no pressure, no feeling of being plugged up, and no fatigue. After months of all-day usage, open-air audio earclips have solidified their place in my daily routine.
I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile. I don't focus on terms like LDAC and DSEE upscaling. To me, they are just practical gadgets. However, I started to evaluate earbuds not solely on their sound quality but also on how seamlessly they fit into my day-to-day life. Many products in this category emphasize bass, noise cancellation, and a lengthy list of features, leading to comfort often being overlooked. I recently had the opportunity to try the Baseus Bowie MC2, my first pair of earclip-style earbuds. It was a revelation. I purchased them from Amazon for $40, making it a minor expense. Taking the leap was definitely worth it.
