Google might be set to release Wear OS 7 to Pixel Watch users sooner than anticipated. Verizon’s official support documentation for the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4 has been updated to include references to the upcoming major Wear OS update, implying that the release could be imminent.
These pages, initially discovered by Droid-Life, feature Wear OS 7 alongside the June 2026 security patch and software version CP2A.260603.001. Verizon’s changelog also notes improvements in performance and stability, which is common phrasing for such carrier support documents.
There is one unusual detail. Reports indicate the pages mention a release date of June 9, but the update hasn’t started rolling out yet. Google has not issued an official announcement, so this should still be considered a tentative timeline.
Which Pixel Watches are likely to receive Wear OS 7 first?
It seems that the Wear OS 7 update will be available for all Pixel watches except the original model, which debuted in 2022. This may be disappointing for users of the first Pixel Watch, but given that the device's guaranteed software updates ended in October 2025, the omission isn't surprising.
Wear OS 7 was unveiled at Google I/O 2026 and introduces significant changes to Google's smartwatch platform. Google claims that watches upgrading from Wear OS 6 should see as much as a 10% improvement in battery life, which could be a noticeable enhancement for devices that require careful daily charging.
The most prominent change is the introduction of Wear Widgets, which replace the previous full-screen Tiles with more versatile 2×1 and 2×2 widget formats. Consequently, existing Pixel Watch owners may receive the main Wear OS 7 upgrade soon, but the complete AI experience could be limited to newer models.
