Saily has just converted the eSIM into a $1 disposable phone number.
NordVPN’s eSIM application might protect your actual phone number from spam
If you’re someone like me who has depended on travel eSIMs, you understand the situation. You gain access to mobile data while traveling abroad without incurring the high costs typically charged by your carrier for roaming. However, you often find yourself with only data, lacking a proper phone number to use.
Saily aims to enhance the utility of traveler eSIMs by integrating a phone number. With NordVPN’s eSIM app, users can obtain a dedicated US +1 phone number directly through Saily. The subscription for this number begins at $0.99 per month, while separate plans for calls and texts also start at $0.99. For less than a cup of coffee, you receive a secondary number that proves useful for services like food delivery, hotel reservations, ticketing, online marketplaces, 2FA codes, and various forms requiring a phone number.
Why Saily’s new offering is quite beneficial
While the major draw is the $1 US phone number, there’s another advantage concerning privacy. Instead of sharing your primary number with every app, business, or service, you can use the Saily number as a protective layer. This feature also benefits services that prefer or necessitate a US number. It’s not merely for show; users can make actual calls, send SMS, and receive verification codes, making it more functional than a standard data-only eSIM. The app allows users to obtain the number, enabling them to complete identity verification using a government ID or passport, install the eSIM, and set it as the primary line if necessary.
This is particularly advantageous for frequent travelers, digital nomads, or anyone wishing to keep their personal number shielded from spam.
The internet has asked for your number one too many times📱You can now acquire a dedicated US (+1) line through the Saily eSIM app, giving your personal line a much-needed break. Available to users worldwide. pic.twitter.com/9QtlLsHbAh— Saily eSIM (@sailyworld) June 10, 2026
Important considerations
This is not a comprehensive substitute for all mobile plans. According to Saily’s support pages, MMS is not supported, which means picture messages, group messages, and messages that convert into MMS may not work. Additionally, premium-rate numbers and call forwarding are unavailable.
Call minutes are shared between incoming and outgoing calls, so it’s important to keep that in mind before treating it as a regular unlimited voice line. Someone calling your Saily number may incur international rates since it’s a US-based number. Nonetheless, the deal is quite attractive as an inexpensive secondary line. Saily already provided mobile data in over 200 destinations, but adding a phone number makes it a more complete travel communication solution.

Your finance app is expanding into your phone plan next
Cash App now manages many aspects of your finances, from money transfers and debit cards to investments and tax filing. Now, it is venturing into another area of your daily life. The company has introduced Cash App Mobile, a new unlimited 5G phone plan priced at $40 per month, including taxes and fees. It operates on AT&T’s network and is powered by Gigs, a company that aids brands in launching embedded mobile services. This plan is initially being rolled out to select Cash App users, with broader availability expected in the upcoming months.
The app you use to share dinner costs now wants to manage your phone
Humbling teardown verifies Trump Phone is simply a modified HTC phone
When the Trump Mobile T1 was launched, it came wrapped in marketing language typical of a product associated with Donald Trump: grand claims, patriotic branding, and several references to American values. However, it was initially unclear what set the phone apart.
Thanks to a thorough teardown and CT scan analysis by iFixit, we now seem to have an answer. Unfortunately, it’s not the discovery Trump Mobile likely anticipated. After removing the gold-colored shell, investigators found what appears to be another smartphone already available on the market: HTC’s U24 Pro. This discovery is awkward for a device marketed as distinct.
YouTube has reintroduced direct messaging for sharing videos without leaving the app
YouTube's direct messaging function is back and is now available in the US
YouTube officially announced that its in-app video sharing and messaging feature is being rolled out in the US, UK, Brazil, and Singapore, expanding the total number of supported countries to 40. This feature is available to users 18 and older who are logged into a YouTube channel. The rollout will happen gradually, so it may not appear in your app right away.
