Deliveries of the Rivian R2 SUV have started, but not for the variant that most customers are likely interested in.
The budget-friendly R2 is not yet available
As previously announced, Rivian has commenced deliveries of its R2 electric SUV. The first variant reaching customers is the R2 Performance with Launch Package, which has a starting price of $57,990 before additional fees.
This model offers early R2 buyers the most potent option within the confirmed lineup. It features dual-motor all-wheel drive, 656 horsepower, 609 lb-ft of torque, and an EPA-estimated range of up to 330 miles. Rivian asserts it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.
Features of the initial R2 for buyers
In addition to its performance enhancements, this trim includes semi-active suspension, heated and ventilated seating, Birch wood interior accents, a premium 975-watt audio system, Matrix LED headlights, and terrain-oriented driving modes such as Rally and Soft Sand. The limited-time Launch Package further adds Autonomy+, Launch Green paint, and a towing package capable of supporting 4,400 pounds.
Every R2 is equipped with a native NACS charging port, allowing owners access to Tesla's Supercharger network, facilitating easier charging on longer journeys compared to older EVs with fewer reliable charging options.
Upcoming lower-priced R2 trims
The less expensive R2 trims will be released after the initial model. The Premium variant is anticipated in late 2026, priced from $53,990, with 450 horsepower, 537 lb-ft of torque, a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds, and a maximum range of 330 miles.
The Standard RWD Long Range trim is slated for the first half of 2027, starting at $48,490. It will utilize a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration, producing 350 horsepower, with a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.9 seconds and an estimated range of up to 345 miles. Rivian is also expected to introduce a more economical Standard variant in late 2027, priced around $45,000, offering over 275 miles of range.
While the initial deliveries focus on the fastest and most equipped SUV version, broader interest in the R2 will likely depend on how effectively Rivian maintains cabin comfort and utility in its more affordable trims.

Smart engineering meets real-world performance in a surprisingly high-quality $50K electric SUV
Rivian has officially introduced the R2, a smaller and more cost-effective two-row electric SUV. Despite the competitive price, the company appears to have maintained high standards for the new vehicle. Much of the cost savings seem to stem from more efficient engineering.
This efficiency is evident in aspects such as the vehicle's electrical system, which has eliminated about two miles of wiring compared to the R1 model. Additionally, numerous vehicle systems and chipsets have been streamlined and compacted.
Audi addresses Ferrari Luce fervor with the hybrid Nuvolari, its most powerful car to date
Introducing the Audi that brings Formula 1 technology to the streets.
Audi has unveiled the Nuvolari, its inaugural hybrid supercar, and the specifications are astonishing. Named after Tazio Nuvolari, an iconic figure in motorsport, this vehicle generates 1,001 PS and can reach speeds exceeding 350 km/h. Only 499 units will be produced, with deliveries beginning in the first half of 2027.
The Nuvolari can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, reaching 200 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. It is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 800 hp, combined with three electric motors for a total system output of 1,001 PS. The electric motors at the front axle alone deliver 2,150 Nm of torque, a figure that seems almost unreal.
