Ozzy Osbourne's upcoming live performance will feature an AI avatar, and opinions among fans are divided.

The trend of reviving deceased icons using AI has now extended to Ozzy Osbourne. Sharon and Jack Osbourne unveiled the initiative at the 2026 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, announcing their collaboration with Hyperreal and Proto Hologram to develop a realistic digital representation of the late Black Sabbath frontman.

Ozzy passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76, shortly after his final live concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham.

What is the goal of AI Ozzy?

The project is referred to as an AI-driven avatar instead of merely a holographic clip. This avatar will utilize Ozzy’s voice, likeness, and movements to engage with fans in real-time. Sharon Osbourne mentioned that fans will have the opportunity to pose questions to the digital version of Ozzy and receive replies in his voice.

The launch is set to begin this summer within Proto Luma displays in the UK and US. These units are large-scale interactive systems that merge holographic presentations with touchscreen and conversational AI elements.

      Why some fans are upset

However, the announcement has not gone over as well as the family had hoped. Some fans have deemed the project disrespectful and expressed worries about using Ozzy’s image for marketing and advertisements in the future. During a livestream, Jack Osbourne addressed the criticism, asserting that the initiative would be “very tasteful” and maintained that it is much more sophisticated than simply linking his father's image to a chatbot.

Jack also noted that the family had previously discussed similar ideas with Ozzy before his passing and expressed confidence that his father would have embraced the project. As AI simulations of deceased celebrities emerge as a troubling new trend in entertainment, dedicated fans are expressing discontent with this development.

Ozzy is not the first prominent figure to undergo this treatment. The music scene has already experienced digital recreations of stars like Tupac Shakur, Michael Jackson, and several more. Hyperreal has also developed an interactive AI avatar of Stan Lee.

The finale of The Boys aimed for profound real-world symbolism but missed the mark for viewers like myself.

After five seasons filled with anticipation, where Homelander brutally dealt with those who displeased him and Butcher risked everything for revenge, I expected an explosive conclusion. Oddly enough, the memes generated from the finale proved more enjoyable than the episode itself.

The Boys season 5 finale, titled "Blood and Bone," isn't the worst conclusion ever, but it is certainly one of the most exasperating to watch. The show abandoned every strategy the Boys had developed over seasons to defeat Homelander, mishandled the remaining plot, and produced an ending that felt as if the writers had abruptly remembered they needed to conclude the series.

Following a lackluster finale, Vought Rising appears to be the potential redemption for the Boys universe.

Vought Rising has released its initial trailer, showcasing a prequel story set in the 1950s that centers on Soldier Boy and the murky origins of Vought.

The Boys concluded its five-season journey just two days ago, yet Prime Video is already ramping up excitement. The first trailer for Vought Rising, a prequel set in 1950s New York City, has just dropped, and it looks promising.

This new series follows a young, naive Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) as he dons his suit for the first time, teaming up with a new group of supes who believe they’re divinely appointed. Spoiler alert: they’re not!

Research indicates that YouTube is confining users to distinct content bubbles based on gender.

A study suggests that YouTube’s recommendation algorithm may be influencing political views differently for men and women, even when both demographics initially share the same interest in political topics. This research, published in Cornell University’s arXiv repository, examined how YouTube’s recommendation system reacts to varying viewing habits.

Researchers created 160 automated social bots, categorizing them into two groups with “male-coded” and “female-coded” viewing patterns. Although both account groups displayed identical interests in YouTube’s News & Politics category, their recommendations reportedly diverged significantly over time.
