Whether you agree or disagree, it’s “clear” that Apple is not abandoning Liquid Glass. The company is merely attempting to tone down its glaringly futuristic appearance on Macs.

Following the mixed feedback regarding the translucent interface of macOS Tahoe, Apple is reportedly working on a more refined and simpler version of this design for macOS 27. However, those anticipating a significant reversal may be disappointed.
What changes can we expect with Liquid Glass in macOS 27?
In his latest Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman mentions that Apple is intending to implement what insiders describe as a “subtle redesign” for macOS 27 to address the criticisms regarding the Liquid Glass interface introduced in macOS Tahoe.
Apple
The main complaints reported involve issues related to transparency effects, shadows, and readability in sections like Finder, Control Center, and applications with dense sidebars or text-heavy layouts. On larger Mac screens, these glass-like effects can hinder clarity and confuse users.
Apple
A part of the issue appears to stem from the hardware itself. Gurman notes that Liquid Glass was initially designed for modern OLED displays, similar to those in the latest iPhones and Apple Watches. Meanwhile, Macs primarily still utilize LCD screens that do not portray translucency and layered effects as effectively. This mismatch is reportedly what Apple aims to refine in macOS 27.
Apple does not plan to abandon Liquid Glass
In spite of the criticisms, Apple reportedly continues to view Liquid Glass as beneficial and a key component of its future design language. Rather than discarding it, macOS 27 is expected to concentrate on enhancing the user experience. Reports indicate that Apple is modifying shadows, transparency behavior, contrast, and readability to create a more streamlined interface without altering its overall appearance dramatically.
Apple
In fact, this situation bears resemblance to the post-iOS 7 scenario, where Apple introduced a bold aesthetic redesign, faced backlash, and then spent the subsequent release refining the details instead of starting anew. Gurman even directly compares the current situation to the transition from iOS 7 to iOS 8. This aligns with wider rumors regarding iOS 27 and macOS 27, which are both anticipated to prioritize enhancements, bug fixes, battery optimization, and usability rather than vast visual changes.

AI-driven graduates are struggling to secure finance jobs due to their superficial ideas
It appears that ChatGPT may not excel in every finance interview.
While artificial intelligence is transforming the finance sector, some companies are beginning to resist a rising trend: graduates who rely too heavily on AI tools without showcasing robust analytical skills. A report from The Financial Times highlights insights from senior finance professionals, including a New York financier who described 2025 interns as the first set of “true AI natives.” These students, who have grown up utilizing both digital platforms and generative AI technologies, initially seemed quite capable during the recruitment process.

Canvas hack strikes students during a critical time, highlighting vulnerabilities in schools
A cyberattack on Canvas has exposed weaknesses in digital classrooms at a critical moment. The learning platform, which schools and universities use for assignments, exams, grades, lecture materials, and communication, experienced outages during finals week, causing chaos for students and instructors seeking alternatives. The attack has been associated with ShinyHunters, a hacker group recognized for data breaches and extortion. According to BleepingComputer, Canvas login pages at various institutions were modified to display a ransom-like message threatening to leak stolen student data unless contacted. The group claims to have acquired data related to millions of students, teachers, and staff from numerous schools.
