This aligns with Apple’s overall strategy to explore new product categories, especially as Ternus prepares to succeed Tim Cook later this year. However, ambitious hardware concepts do not always lead to practical products.

If this product sounds familiar, that’s because Microsoft previously attempted something similar with the Surface Neo. The company promoted the Surface Neo as a novel dual-screen computing experience, but it never made it to market. Foldable phones have advanced significantly in recent years, but the challenge now lies in scaling this concept to a larger tablet size, which introduces a different array of challenges, such as durability, software optimization, and cost.
The foldable iPad is merely one component of a much broader development pipeline.
