Liquid cooling, bypass charging, and mechanical triggers: the GT 50 Pro is ready for serious gaming
Infinix
Gaming smartphones often struggle with overheating, but Infinix claims to have found a solution. Introducing the Infinix GT 50 Pro, a gaming phone featuring an industry-first micro-pump liquid cooling system designed more like a gaming PC rather than a typical smartphone. You can even see the coolant circulate through a transparent Pipeline Window Display located on the back.
How does the liquid cooling system in the Infinix GT 50 Pro operate?
The HydroFlow Liquid Cooling Architecture utilizes a piezoelectric-driven ceramic heat pump to circulate a specially designed coolant at a rate of 6.5ml per minute through precisely etched channels with laser accuracy at the micron level.

This system encompasses 100% of the phone's main heat sources across a diaphragm area of 6,437mm². In simpler terms, your phone remains cool during prolonged, high-intensity gaming sessions.
If you're looking to enhance performance further, the GT Magcharge Cooler 2.0 accessory provides 12W of active thermoelectric cooling. Its unique feature is wireless bypass charging, which directs power straight to the processor instead of the battery, thus reducing heat at the source and maintaining battery health over time.

What additional features does the Infinix GT 50 Pro offer?
The device is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chip, capable of clocking up to 3.25GHz, alongside 12GB of RAM and options for either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The 6,500mAh battery supports charging at 45W wired and 30W wireless.
The 6.78-inch 1.5K display operates at a refresh rate of up to 144Hz with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, while audio is delivered via Dolby Atmos. For controls, the Pressure-Sense GT Triggers feature dual-pressure mechanical shoulder buttons, offering 10 pressure levels and under 20ms latency for a console-like experience.

In terms of photography, it includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens. XOS 16 introduces AI Smart Trigger for combo automation and AI Magic Voice Changer for team chats. The GT 50 Pro is available in Black Abyss, Red Blaze, and Silver Glacier.
Though pricing has not been officially announced, the Infinix GT 50 Pro will be available first in Indonesia, with the 12GB/256GB model estimated at about $376 and the 12GB/512GB version around $434.
Overall, this month has been significant for gaming smartphones, with OnePlus unveiling a gaming-oriented device, the Ace 6 Ultra, and physical fans in smartphones gaining more attention.

I recently transitioned to my first significant foldable device, and I now understand the appeal
I had dismissed foldables after a disappointing experience with flip phones, but a larger screen changed everything.
For a long time, I viewed foldable phones as a solution in search of a problem. They're costly, fragile, and often seem to be making an effort to validate their existence. While I admire the engineering behind them, I never understood how they would genuinely enhance my daily life. To me, a traditional slab phone simply made more sense—it's simpler, cheaper, and sufficient for nearly everything. I was never particularly enthusiastic about foldables.

I tried the OnePlus Nord 6, and now many flagship batteries seem underwhelming
OnePlus' latest mid-range phone highlights how conservative most flagship smartphones continue to be.
What lingered with me after using the OnePlus Nord 6 was not only the battery capacity but also how remarkably normal the entire phone felt. A 9,000mAh battery seems like it should belong to a bulky gaming device or a rugged phone lacking finesse.
Hence, despite its powerbank-like capacity, the Nord 6 appears as a fairly ordinary mid-range smartphone with battery life that makes many premium flagships seem timid.
