Your iPhone is becoming more intelligent: Here’s what Apple Intelligence offers in iOS 27.

Apple has been gradually enhancing Apple Intelligence since its introduction, and iOS 27 may represent the most ambitious update to this initiative so far. Recent backend code uncovered by developer Nicolás Alvarez, later validated by MacRumors, indicates that at least four new AI-driven features are on the way for system applications. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the evidence appears quite compelling.

Visual intelligence is becoming more advanced

Two of the four features enhance the capabilities of Visual Intelligence, which aligns with Apple's reported advancements in hardware. The company is rumored to be working on AI wearables, such as smart glasses, camera-equipped AirPods, and an AI pin or pendant. All these devices would heavily depend on Visual Intelligence, reinforcing Apple's investment in this feature.

The first new function would allow users to point their camera at a food nutrition label and retrieve detailed information, likely integrating with the Health app. The second feature would identify printed phone numbers and addresses and allow users to save them directly to Contacts. Apple already offers similar functionality for calendar dates, making it a logical progression to apply this to contact information.

Wallet is set to become much more functional

The Wallet app is expected to introduce the capability to generate digital passes by scanning physical cards and tickets, covering gym membership cards, event tickets, loyalty cards, and similar items. While Google Wallet on Android has provided this functionality for some time, Apple is catching up rather than innovating, but this will still be a valuable feature for many iPhone users.

Safari will automatically name your group tabs

For those who utilize Tab Groups in Safari and have found themselves puzzled by an unnamed group of miscellaneous tabs, there’s good news. iOS 27 is said to include a feature that automatically assigns names to Tab Groups based on their contents. This kind of AI assistance adds a thoughtful touch to the user experience.

      What remains unknown

It should be noted that all of this information stems from code snippets rather than an official announcement. The features could perform differently when implemented, be postponed until a later update, or could be eliminated entirely before launch. Nonetheless, Apple is reportedly developing a more capable version of Siri for iOS 27 that will feature deeper integration across the system, and these updates align well with that direction.

Apple plans to officially showcase iOS 27 at WWDC in June, with a public release anticipated in September alongside the new iPhone models. We should learn much more at that time.

Leaked Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ images showcase five colors and three finishes

Motorola has an eventful week ahead, as the Edge 70 Pro is set to launch in India on April 22, but it seems there's another noteworthy device to keep an eye on. Renowned leaker Evan Blass has released high-resolution renderings of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, providing a glimpse of the more premium variant in the lineup.

Apple won’t be including a 200MP camera in your iPhone anytime soon

If you were anticipating a significant leap in camera technology for the next iPhone, you may need to wait a bit longer. According to well-known Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple has already tested a 200MP periscope telephoto camera for the iPhone. However, actual implementation is still at least a couple of years away, with 2028 being the earliest plausible timeline (via MacRumors). Apple has historically favored optical flexibility and low-light performance over merely increasing resolution. For instance, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a 48MP main camera with variable aperture, along with a 48MP telephoto camera with an extended focal length and larger aperture.

Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8 foldable may disappoint with its battery performance

Samsung's next flip-style foldable is shaping up to be a cautious update, which isn't ideal for those hoping the company would finally address one of the line's most apparent shortcomings. The latest reports suggest the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will continue with 25W wired charging, a familiar limitation that risks making the phone feel too conventional in regular use. This compromise has been a longstanding issue with the Flip series. Samsung has successfully marketed the compact foldable design, but buyers have often had to make some practical sacrifices in return, with battery performance being one of the top concerns.
